Can't play online

Hi, i tryed to play online in quick band mode, but when i get to the screen where you set up the game invite people and stuff when i press A to select my character it says i gotta connect with an xbox live profile, and i'm aready connected! If i click connect and select my xbox live profile nothing happens it just goes back to the game setup screen without letting me selecting my character.
Can someone help me? I'm 100% sure my xbox live profile is working cause i'm always on msn from xbox and it works, i chat with people, my internet connection works fine.

Is your Xbox Live account Gold or Silver? It needs to be Gold to play multiplayer games online.

Also, are you signed into XBL on the instrument you're trying to play on? For example, if you're trying to play drums online, your XBL profile needs to be signed in on the drums.

Aww i have a sliver account... btw if i try to use the xbox live trial (xbox live guest account) it gives a weird error saying it has an invalid subscription (err i dunno how to translate it in english) :/

O well i'll get a 1 year xbox love card tomorrow :D
