Looking at the set list, there's a lot of good songs but pretty much everything is really safe - where's the danger, where's the aggression?
Here are some good thrashy songs that'll get your blood pumping:
The Bronx - Heart Attack American
Clutch - Pure Rock Fury
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Panasonic Youth
Every Time I Die - Ebolarama
Norma Jean - A Grand Scene For A Color Film
Propagandhi - Back To The Motor League
Queens Of The Stone Age - Broken Box
Rocket From The Crypt - Return Of The Liar
Thrice - The Earth Will Shake
A Wilhelm Scream - Pardon Me, Thanks A Lot

I agree with you. Heavy songs have cooler drum parts. Except it should be 43% burnt by the Dillenger Escape Plan.

Agree also. The set list for GH II is solid all the way through. The GH III list is pretty good but very shoddy in the first 5 groups. RB has the weakest of the lineups for songs but i want it the most (which is odd in and of itself...but..whatevaa..) it does a good job of giving some stuff to play but COME ON... Even some glam metal, a power ballad, can a brother get a few rock your socks off metal songs to play?

Throw in Everything is Alive, Everything is Breathing, Nothing is Dead, and Nothing is Bleeding by the Chariot just for s**ts and giggles.
But seriously, a band like the Showdown would be an excellent band to throw in.
You have the hardcore drums and balls to the wall guitars, with strong vocals that are very singable.
I'm talking about the album Temptation Come My Way, not their old album.
Their slogan is High Voltage Heavy Metal and they live up to that name.
You could probably license them for cheap as a plus.

Um, Dillenger Escape Plan and Norma Jean are just too damn weird for most people.

Agreed. But not every person has to like every song. A lot of songs in rock band are just too damn lame for me to enjoy, but I don't begrudge their presence because I know other people like them.

Norma Jean would be kick ass.
Seen them four times, once with an All Access pass.
