Well I've been looking over the threads already here and tbh reading them there is a good variety if you jumble it all together!
But I also have noticed many are harsh on the music chosen by others, as one so eloquently put it he'd "prefer to put his cock through a cheese grater than play that ****" (or something to those lines).
I was just wondering, since Rock Band is going so in depth compared to Guitar Hero, enabling a full instrument specialisation for all parts, why not a band specialisation?
Why not make separate tours so people can make their own knock-off Led Zeppelins and Metallica's? And the odd person who wants to make a Beatles-esque band?
I know license costs is a major pain in the ass, but is it possible at all?
I just thought it may be an idea for future line-ups, so people like My Chemical Romance fans don't have to play upbeat songs and metal fans like me don't have to play songs like Surrender in GH2.
Also could build on to more sub-genre variety such as in metal where theres all kinds of sub genres like thrash, death, emo/scremo, mainstream metal etc. etc.
(Just an idea, dunno if its the right place to put this thread but I thought it applied here where everyone is debating their favourite guitar based music types :P)
