Suburban Me - cool, i liked the "hidden solo" thing near the end of the song slipknot does that alot its cool, i think the guitar work would be sweeter if they didnt palm mute as much.

december flower - i like these vocals a whole lot better, thats part of the reason i couldnt really get into these guys or children of bodom, i like this song alot, if the rest of this album is like this im gettin it.

only for the weak - i like this song alot too, ive heard this one a few times good stuff

terminus - i like these guys, i especially like there drum pattern and harmonics.

i gotta go so ill listen to those other ones later...

and anyone who likes alot of bands on my list check out some of the bands you dont know...

yeah the album with december flower is arguably one of the best melodic death metal albums of all time. it is called "the jester race". if you liked december flower, you will like the album "whoracle". a good song off of this album is "episode 666"

i think to combat GH:WT HMX needs to release these songs as DLC that will be in GH:WT because i love them and want to play them and i dont want to have to buy GHWT for 9 songs...

Muse - Assasin
Korn - Freak on a Leash
Tool - Parabol/Parabola, Vicarious, Schizm
Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire
Black Label Society - Stillborn
Metallica - Trapped Under Ice
Filter - Hey Man Nice Shot

at least the Korn and Tool songs...

anyone have any predictions about 20 free songs?

these are the bands and songs i think have a good chance being in the 20...

Ram Jam - Black Betty

Korn - any, most likely - Freak on a leash, or Blind

Pantera - Cemetary Gates, or Walk

Muse - Knights Of Cyonia, Assasin, or Supermassive Black Hole

Slipknot - could be anything

Led Zepplin - maybe a cover of a song?

Jimi Hendrix - another cover maybe?

Opeth - Grand Conjuration, the Lotus Eater, or Porcilain Heart

Black Sabbath - a cover of Iron Man

Bring Me The Horizon - Pray For Plagues

TOOL - One can hope cant they? HMX should really invest in these guys unless the deal with activision doesnt let them deal with HMX also.
im prepared to be let down though.

and with the good come the bad...
here are some songs and bands i despise that will probobly be in there instead...

My Chemical Romance
Fall Out Boy
Coheed and Cambria
more 80s hair bands
more emo music
Dragonforce

bring it on HMX!

^ you really think bring me the horizon has a good chance? that would be sweet but we havent seen that style yet and i think there are more prominent bands to start with the introduction of deathcore. and yeah your "bad" bands are truly terrible so i hope you are wrong lol oh, opeth would be amazing too

The new Gojira is pretty good.

DethByAudio
09-29-2008, 02:24 PM
the new song from gojira's new cd "Vacuity" isnt really what i expected
its more trance like than gojira's other singles. more like the songs that close a gojira album, i hope the songs get heavier and hookier, and more rolling like backbone, from the sky, or deliverance.

has anyone hear toxic garbage island or any other songs they released yet?

11-06-2008, 09:35 AM
yeah, they are kinda cool, its not really my thing.

i really like The Grand Conjuration, Ghosts Of Perdition, The Lotus Eater, and Porcalain Skin. Their cover of Celtic Frost's Circle Of Tyrants is cool too.

i like more brutal and heavier music, like the first two songs i mentioned from them.

any other suggestions?

Just want to throw this out there to Tool fans

1. It's spelled Schism. With an s. No z. Schism. S-c-h-i-s-m.

2. Schism is the worst ****ing song choice possible. 2 minutes of ONLY the guitarist playing the same 20 single notes 20 times in a row? Fun.

I almost fell asleep watching my girlfriend playing it and waiting for teh drums to come back (it was late and I hadn't slept well, so no, I'm not exaggerating that XD).

3. Tool albums won't work that well, because of all the ambient stuff they do. There are at least 2 or 3 songs that would just have to be cut out from each album because they have no part for anyone. Ticks & Leeches? awesome for Rock Band. Triad? Not so much. Mantra? Even worse. Eon Blue Apocalypse? It's do-able, but it doesn't have vocals and I think there might not be drums. I don't quite remember. Plus Parabola would be the weirdest song to play ever. It's epic to listen to, but to play? I have my doubts.

Other than that, good list =p The only thing I would complain about is the lack of Iron Tusk by Mastodon. That song is epic drums if I've ever heard epic drums.

sorry bou the schism thing, but about tool albums not working...

no if you've listened to undertow youd know that its an awesome record with the ambient stuff to a minimum. i really only want LatErALus for Parabol/Parabola, Ticks & Leeches, and Lateralus. triad wouldnt be too bad, just a little spacy, i dont hear any complaints about the synth part in won't get fooled again, or forplay/longtime...

id rather have Undertow tho.

Opiate would be ok but theres only like 5 songs, the last one is all vocals & synth, 2 are live tracks, and there would be too much censoring.

lol sorry if I came across as an ass on that. I re-read it, and I looked a lot more serious than I meant to be. And Undertow would work the best, but a lot of the songs woudl have issues. Intolerance, and Prison Sex? Fine. Sober? Fairly boring for drums until the end, and it would be "Silver" on bass. Bottom would have the wnoderful talking bit with Henry Rollins that I don't think would translate well for most people, Crawl Away, Swamp Song and 4º would work, but then Flood would be pretty slow, and Disgustipated would be impossible.

As for Lateralus, though.

There's Eon Blue Apocalypse lacking in a lot of instruments, Mantra lacking EVERYTHING, Schism is horrible as mentioned, Parabol wouldn't be fun at all, Lateralus would have a lot of slow parts like Schism, Disposition wouldn't work that well if at all, Triad would have the same problems as Parabol, Reflection would have the same problem as Lateralus and Schism, and finally Faaip De Oiad is impossible.

Then just to cover the other albums:

Opiate, as mentioned, doesn't have enough songs to constitute a full album purchase. And not all the songs work.

Ænima has Useful Idiot, Message to Harry Manback, Intermission, Cesarro Summability, and Ions that would be pretty impossible. Then add in all the censoring to the title track. Add in all the gaps of playing in Third Eye (one of my favorite Tool tracks), and that album is pretty hard to justify.

10,000 Days has Lipan Conjuring, Lost Keys, Intension and Virginti Tres that are impossible. Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days would be really boring and empty. Rosetta Stoned is an absoluetly epic song, but horrible for RB, and Right in Two wouldn't be a great choice, either.

Most Tool albums don't work. It's not JUST the ambient stuff, full albums just wouldn't be that fun to play.

And this is from a complete Tool fanatic.

DethByAudio

idk
i still think tool's undertow would be awesome for rockband, if you really want to play tool in RB you could suck it up for some boring parts, and left out track.

better than none

not bad, i hopped on their site and nabbed a few free tracks, they remind me of a friendlier version of God Dethroned, if you havent heard those guys yet, or if you heard something and didnt care for it, listen to "Lair Of The White Worm" from when they were melodeath, the vid is on Youtube, which is weird cuz it totally has boobies in it.
love the song, boobies or not

oh yeah, and what did you think of Wrath?
compared to Sacrament i loved it, especially Grace, Broken Hands, Contractor, Set To Fail, and of course Reclamation, i havent talked to a real lamb fan yet who didnt like Reclamtion

yeah god dethroned is great. i like to compare the duskfall to new in flames and nightrage.

as for wrath- it is my fav LoG album. Broken hands and reclamation are my favs. the only song i dont care for as much as the others is shoulder of your god.
