Rock Band Release Parties

Hey I was just wondering how many people are planning release parties for next week? I am having one at my house tuesday night. I invited about 15 people. Should be a lot of fun. I will post some pictures aftwards. Should be interesting to see how my non gaming friends take to playing rock band

I am planning on throwing a Rock Band party, but not until a week or two after the release. That way, I'll have all the songs unlocked, and I'll be able to guide the uninitiated through the game comfortably.

Release day we're having a few friends over. Just a gamer and his wife (who will probably be roped into a song or two), and another fellow was invited. He'll probably come over if his jet lag isn't too bad.

We're planning on having an official "Rock Band Party" a few weeks later, once we're sure how things work. How BWT works. How to unlock stuff, etc.

But for release day, it is just going to be about four to six of us.

My friends Josh'n'Heather and John'n'Elizabeth will be joining my girlfriend & I for "Rock Band Weekend" starting Friday, since we all have the day off. :D

I too will be having one, but not until the saturday after release. That way everyone is back in town after thanksgiving break. It also gives me a few days to unlock all the songs, and get a leg up on everyone else in the drum department.

The plan involves me coming back to my apartment by noon. Then after unloading my things I will buy a 30-pack of beer and attempt to stay at just the sweet spot of intoxication wherein I am drunk enough to be better at the game than I am sober (This does happen to me) and remain that way for the next... 9 hours. All the while I'll be cooking a giant pot of chilli and rocking out.

Hopefully by 8 everyone will arrive and we'll all just be messy and rocking out loud till four in the morning.

Friday night Ive sent out the word to stop over for some rock band.

There was talk of a keg at some point, but I think now the talk has diminished to 3 of those Heiniken mini-kegs. Because the singer can just WALK to the fridge when then need one.

I will be having one around 11am with 2 of my friends. We are going to GameStop at 10:30am, just after it opens, to pick it up and go back home and ROCK OUT!

Mine will have to be 2 Saturdays after the release (Dec. 1), because I and all my friends will still be home for Thanksgiving. The first meeting of our weekly BWT band will be the 2nd Wednesday after release. Plenty of time to unlock stuff. If I didn't have class on the 20th, I'd be confident that I could go for the trifecta of completing all 3 solo tours in a day.

Not sure when I'm getting the game, depends on how quickly it ships over here, but I'm going to have a Rock Band party in a few weeks. Buying a mic stand and drum stool next week in preparation. Debating whether to hire out some lights for it, I heard a basic set years ago for my 18th birthday and that were pretty cheap for the night, so think I might.

Yeah, our big party will be mid-December. Time enough for my roommate and I to up our skills. She and I will get the word out, invest in some quality hooch, and will probably have about 16-20 people rocking out in our apartment.

Also, who would want to have their big RB party before Buddy Holly and My Iron Lung?

I'm heading to my friends' house on Monday evening for copious drinking and some GH2 and GH3 thrashing to warm up. Then we're gonna probably pass out around 4, wake up at 10, head to the GameStop, pick up our 3 SE bundles, head back to their house, and rock out until Wednesday evening, at which time I'll head back to the wife and kids and show them what its all about. Then I plan on showing the game to the entire family on Thanksgiving, hopefully eliminating the god-awful tradition of watching the Detroit Lions get their asses handed to them. From there its just gonna be me and the game. Ah, Tuesday will be the best day ever.

I'm with you, BodhiWolff. I'm playing with a few friends (we all took off work) on the 20th, getting everything figured out, and then scheduling a party with more friends later after we have everything figured out.
