In b4 poll. Honestly, whichever options there are, for me it is all about Jason Voorhees, Micheal Myers, the original Alien and Predator(although that is an action franchise).

Everyone else on the poll save Pennywise has at least 4 movies under their belt, and an evil flesh-eating alien clown needs no sequels :p

They snuck in 2 more direct to video? My old roommmate has failed me then....
*edit*
Indeed he has. There are 4 Phantasms, with a 5th in production for next year, and Angus Scrimm is in them all. I still don't rate the Tall Man in league with the other pollsters however.

Who are Pennywise & Jigsaw?
I quit watching horror stuff about 10-12 years ago when I started having little girls (daughters) running around the house. Although I just recently saw 'The Hills Have Eyes' 1 & 2....pretty creepy, but good.

Who are Pennywise & Jigsaw?
Pennywise, the dancing clown - from Stephen King's It.
Jigsaw is the name of the killer from the Saw film series.

Thanks!
I do remember Pennywise now...I don't know if I ever saw the movie (if I did, it was a long time ago), but I think I read the book (once again, a long time ago)
I voted Pennywise.
Saw IT when it originally aired on TV, I think I was about 10 years old at the time. I basically grew up watching horror movies, loved it. But that effing clown man. Gyah. I have it on DVD and watched it a few nights ago. That clown is still creepy.

Norman Bates, as that's the only choice from the list from a movie/series that has any creativity

I'm a sucker for the classics. I voted 'other' in spite of the original Dracula (from Nosferatu).

Pennywise was far more creepy in the It - the book, but I have to say the Alien was scariest for me. Yes, SF not horror, but still scared me.
Okay now that I think about it, Jaws gave me nightmares for about a year!
(Jamie Lee Curtis is my FAVORITE horror movie character - you go girl!)

It's a toss-up between Ash from Evil Dead and MacReady from The Thing.

Out of this bunch I'd have to go with Pinhead and Michael Myers. Though I'm talking both the original Hellraiser and Halloween - none of the sequels where those characters became far less frightening.
I'll give "other" credit to the freaky vengeance-minded-dead-Japanese-chick duo of Sadako and Kayako.

Of these, I voted for Freddy...but I prefer the old 1930's Universal monsters, particularly Dracula and Creature from Black Lagoon.

Nice....good to know there are others out there who have seen movies earlier than 1980.

I've always been a fan of Pennywise. Who doesn't think a spider like creature(that appears mostly as a clown) that feeds on flesh and imagination. :D It can change at will to whatever creature It wants to assume so I go with Bob Gray/It/Pennywise.(I do agree that It is a lot more scarier in book, I got chills when I was reading during the day outside).

I voted for Jason because he scared the hell out of me when I was 5. Also, I love Friday the 13th Part III, with all the blatantly awful 3D effects.
