Hello everyone, I'm new to the community and somewhat new to the whole Rock Band experience. Over the summer I purchased the Wii package of Rock Band (a move I'm somewhat regretting, but not wholly). I'm considering trading in my Wii and my Wii Rock Band for an Xbox 360, especially with the upcoming price drop this month.
My question is: Do I have to trade in my Wii instruments or can I keep them and use them on the Xbox 360 version?
Thanks,
Chris

Is this a rhetorical question or are you legitimately asking me it? Because the Wii version uses a USB hub--just like the Xbox does--I wasn't sure if any of the instruments would be compatible due to the similar connection (namely, the microphone and the drums . . . I would understand the guitar not working due to its wireless capability).

No. There's a reason they were made for the wii.

Just because they both use USB doesn't mean they communicate the same way.

what about the microphone? I thought I read any USB mic would work with the 360. I'm am buying an in-law a 360 and the disc version of rb2 along with my old rb1 strat (he has the wii RB1 complete set). So can he use the Wii RB1 mic on the 360?

Yep, your USB mic will work.

Yay for necroposting!
Your average consumer is not going to be tinkering with stuff like that. The real question is: Out of the box, will peripherals work with another system? The answer is no (except for microphones).
