Not all, some. Metallica pack, Fortunate Son, Juke Box Hero, and maybe Bang A Gong. But thats probably about it.

I will likely buy it all except for the punk. I just remember how even the bonus stuff on GH1 & 2 was so fun to play. I'll buy and play anything except ...punk.

I'm absolutely going to get everything. Starting with the Metallica pack. \m/

Not all, but probably 80% of it...I can't wait...So many great songs for week 1

Everything is too much... even for me :D

I will start with My Sharona though... I think that one will surprise a lot of people.

And the Wolfmother song has an awesome guitar riff to it if you've listened to the audio track.

Pretty much that. (Maybe 90%) :)

Edit: I'm buying for two people, me and my wife. The Police for her. Metallica for me.... etc, etc. (I admit, most of it is for me.)

not at 2 each, but I'm definitely going to get most of it.

oh hell, I'll get it all. I know I will.

Faith No More, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and Nine Inch Nails DLC is needed!!!!

After I blow through my free points from my various events I will slow down to songs I really love, but for the most part I am going to buy stuff that me and all my friends enjoy (even if some things aren't my cup of tea) Anything to keep everyone not straying from playing at my home so I don't have to drive...

My Sharona is going to be a great pick up. The song has everything; a great bass line, pounding drums throughout, a nifty guitar solo, and it is fun to sing.

So, that and the Grateful Dead stuff (please be live tracks, not studio), maybe the Police tunes and some Who.

Actually I can see buying a few every other month or two after a while.

I will. By that, of course, I mean I'll ask my mom too. Doubtful, though, because we're sort of low on money. Oh well. I'm sure I'll get over $70 from Christmas money, I'll put that all on one of those prepaid credit card things and use that to buy all of my DLC.

Here's what I'm planning on getting:

Metallica Pack
"Ride the Lightning"--Metallica
"Blackened"--Metallica
"And Justice for All"?Metallica

Fortunate Son" as made famous by Creedence Clearwater Revival *
"Juke Box Hero" as made famous by Foreigner *
My Sharona" as made famous by The Knack *

Black Sabbath Pack
"N.I.B." as made famous by Black Sabbath *
"Sweet Leaf" as made famous by Black Sabbath *
"War Pigs" as made famous by Black Sabbath *

"Buddy Holly"--Weezer
"Brass in Pocket" as made famous by Pretenders *
I Fought the Law"--The Clash

All that should cost around $23... Not too bad for so much rocking goodness.

I think Fortunate Son and My Sharona are definite purchases for me. There are 3-4 others I'll probably pick up. I kind of want to wait though, and just enjoy the game, and then add DLC later. It seems like too much to get the game and new songs all at the same time.

I'm in grad school, but I do research for the university for $15/hr, and I get to set my own hours/work from home, which is great. Now, instead of just laying on the couch and watching TV, I can convince myself to put in an hour of work, and then bill the school for it, and get 7 new songs.

I'm thinking...

FORTUNATE SON
MY SHARONA
BUDDY HOLLY
ROXANNE (maybe SYNCRONICITY)
BANG A GONG
HEROES
WAR PIGS
I FOUGHT THE LAW

MdubMedia

I'll probably get 5-10 of those....the metallica songs have great drums and guitar, but I just despise them vocally....

I may get one of them.

Anyway, I'm with toefer, I'd like to at least play through all the regular songs first and then add stuff in, but then again, since it's an "endlist" set list maybe I'll throw a few in right off the bat...

Definitely buying: Metallica pack, Police pack, Sabbath pack, Bowie pack, Punk pack, Fortunate son, Buddy Holly, Iron Lung.

I was planning on buying a whole lot of the DLC, but then saw the list. Sorry, but I wouldn't want to pay to play most of those songs. (Which, just so you know, I mis-typed as "tohngs", somehow, the first time.)

I'll definitely be getting Juke Box Hero and Buddy Holly, and I'll probably be getting I Fought the Law and Fortunate Son, if the mood strikes.

Edit: Wow, I somehow missed My Sharona on that list. Definitely going to buy that, crazy awesome party song. Yeah, you may think I'm lame, but you know what I mean.

The first week I'm just gonna get The Police, QOTSA, Fortunate Son, and Bang a Gong.

At least, that's what I'm saying now.

More than likely, the awesome will break my will, and I'll put myself further in debt and buy it all.

I think I'll spring for most of the announced DLC eventually. Only ones I really can't stand are Cherry Bomb and Brass in Pocket.

11-14-2007, 03:36 PM
So far the only one I'm picking up as soon as its out is the Metallica pack. I may pick up some of the singles eventually, but none of them really struck me as must-haves besides the Metallica pack.

Who knows, maybe my mind will change once I pick up Rock Band and would be willing to playing absolutely anything.

11-14-2007, 03:50 PM
For me it depends on a few things.

1) If the track is a master, if it is I'd probably get it.
2) Good song or no? Some ok songs would be ok to get, but if theres ever a Hole Pack I'd stay faaaaar away from that.
3) Packs, if its a pack with a song I really like I'd get the pack instead of single DL so I can get four more tracks to learn.
4) Payment, I need to either get a credit card or Sony needs to release cards (were waiting...)

Me, too, I'm just gettin the Metallica pack, and that's it.

And Iron Lung, of course, I mean that's a given.

I'm steering clear of the covers completely, I'm not paying $2 for a cover. Except Fortunate Son. Cover or no cover, I really have to own that.

And N.I.B.

Sh*t, I'm going to hate myself for this, but I guess I really have to buy War Pigs again.

Oh, f*ck me, if I buy N.I.B. and War Pigs, then I'm basically throwing money away if I don't get the whole Black Sabbath pack.

The wife! I have to get the Police pack for the wife, so she's not too annoyed by the Metallica stuff.

She's going to want The Grateful Dead, too.

And we've got family for Thanksgiving, so everyone's going to want to sing My Sharona.

Damn you, Harmonix.

it all depends on if i can find some cash to pay on my credit card. i wish the psn cards were out. it wouldn't be as wallet busting to know i must play it all.

I have 400 points. What does that get me 2 songs? I'll probaby add 500 more though then buy the metallica pack though. Does anyone know where you can buy MS points cards?

I picked a one up at my local Gamestop for $19.99. They were also selling a ridiculous amount of points for $50 or so. I'm sure Wal-Mart/Target will have them as well.

The Metallica Pack is the only day one MUST have for me.

I'll probably pick up a couple of other singles here and there in the following weeks but the game has so much content from the get go that I'm gonna have plenty to play.

This game no officially owns me.

I'll prob wait, get acquainted with all the songs on disc, get a hefty amount of points for xmas and then go nuts. It'll be like a whole new game at that point.

is the 1600 points for $20 a ripoff though or does it balance out? This whole MS points thing confuses me so much.

I'll probably end up buying the majority of the songs, most of them are really good songs, I don't plan on buying everything though.

I bought a 4000 point card just for this game ($36 for it).

I also have 420 points on my account left over from other giveaways and will be getting 500 more free from MS.

I should be set for at least a little while :D

I'll probably get one third to one half of the announced DLC. $2 each is a bit steep. I guess albums are going to cost $20 or more. So, are they losing money on the game itself? Because the numbers just don't add up.

I will start with My Sharona though... I think that one will surprise a lot of people.

Absolutely. There may be "better" songs or ones that people like more, but I seriously doubt there will be a song that's more fun to play in a group than My Sharona.

JohnnyFAS

I'll be getting nearly all of it. No Metallica, though, since the only fun part of their songs to play would be the drums. I'm not much of a metal-head. War Pigs is fun, but I have it for GHII so I'm in no rush. N.I.B is the only Sabbath song I'll download. As for the rest, I'm practically drooling over all of it, especially Buddy Holly, Fortunate Son, and the David Bowie/Punk packs.

1600 points is equal to $20. That's why 100 points = $1.25.
