Guitar Hero 3 (Wii) guitar compatible with Rockband (Wii)?

I seen other posts asking this question relating to PS3. I assume the answer is still no even if it is on Wii given these are two different companies. My kids got this for a gift today and apparently the Salesperson at Target said the GH3 Wii Guitar would work with Rockband Wii no problem. Before I open the box i wanted to find out for sure.

i dont think it works on the wii

Both the GH3 w/wireless guitar and the Rockband w/ all the instruments are specifically for the Wii (or so the packaging says.) I just wanted to know if I could use the wireless guitar that comes with GH3 for the Wii and use it with the Rockband.

No, and unfortunately there is no news about whether or not a fix is coming for this on the Wii in the forseeable future like there is on the PS3.
