The Legendary album from the band that started the NWOBHM. Often considered to be one of the best metal albums of all time (Right up there with Paranoid and Master Of Puppets)
1. Invaders
2. Children Of The Damned
3. The Prisoner
4. 22 Acacia Avenue
5. The Number Of The Beast
6. Run To The Hills
7. Gangland
8. Total Eclipse
9. Hallowed Be Thy Name
Without a single weak track in the list, which means ABSOLUTELY NO filler!
All of these songs would be AMAZINGLY fun to play, from the chanting the intro to "The Number Of The Beast" to playing the eerie "22 Acacia Avenue" to winding down with the epic "Hallowed Be Thy Name". This is an album for the ages.

i would definitely get some tracks from this album, but i would buy all of "somewhere in time" if it was released.

If it were a metter of my personal preference, I'd actually pick either Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son or Powerslave. However, I felt The Number of the Beast would be the most fitting for Rock Band. I honestly would take any album (other the No Prayer For The Dying, The X Factor, and Virtual XI) and buy the whole album for Rock Band. I just think this album appeals to the most people.

This would have to be master. I don't see why Guitar Hero got Number of the Beast and Rock band couldn't.

Probably all the 14 year olds who want more Fallout Boy and MCR.
I'll take any album that Dickinson sang on. Powerslave is probably my favorite, but again I like anything that Dickinson sings. Paul Di'Anno wasn't a bad singer, per se, but I'm not overly fond of his voice. And Blaze Bayley...no...just no...I've only liked one song with him on vocals, and that's Futurereal.

Personally I'll take any Maiden at this point, but I would much rather Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

Maiden isn't fun in this game by any means. There's plenty voting no probably based on the sheer stupidity of RttH alone.

I'd buy anything Maiden from the first Bruce Dickinson era, not sure about the stuff they made after he returned, I don't know it well enough.
Actually, I'd probably buy stuff from Dickinson's solo albums as well. Only problem is that he's a pretty tough vocalist to mimic.

I think Iron Maiden is more suited to a mega-pack since they don't have one 'definitive' album (meaning everybody disagrees on what their favorite album is). If I had to choose one, it would be Powerslave, especially because we don't already have two of the tracks from that (unlike NotB). However, Hallowed be thy Name needs to be on the game at some point regardless.

Oh, so I suppose good metal is Lamb of God, who wish they could be Maiden but, realizing they can't, just scream into the microphone in agony. Please, Maiden are one of the most influential metal acts of all time, and if you think RttH is stupid then I'm sorry, but you have no taste in music. I know music is subjective, and generally I try to adhere to that but...I'm sorry. Then again, you probably only feel Maiden isn't fun becuase you probably can't beat the songs, which in that case means you need to practice more, and the problem isn't with the songs, it's with your abilities.

I said NotB simply because while RttH isn't a terrible cover, the NotB cover is horrid.
As I said earlier, NotB wouldn't be my first choice as an album, but most people would choose this or Powerslave.
People with good taste in metal.
Iron Maiden is good metal. Iron Maiden pretty much started heavy metal. They took what Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin had, and made it faster. You seem like one of those wannabe metalheads who think St. Anger is a great album, and Dream Theater is the best stuff out there. If you knew anything at all about metal, you'd know that Iron Maiden is one of the most respected names in metal.

Even after NPFTD they had some good albums/singles.
Fear of the Dark is a great song, even though the album isn't quite up to snuff. Also, the albums Brave New World and A Matter Of Life And Death are very good, and I would buy them as well. However, my Choices are (in order):
1. NotB/7th Son (Tie)
2. Powerslave
3. Somewhere In Time
4. Piece Of Mind
5. Iron Maiden
6. A Matter Of Life And Death
7. Brave New World
8. Killers
9. Dance Of Death
10. Fear Of The Dark
11. Virtual XI/The X Factor (tie)
12. No Prayer For The Dying

Nope. They suck too. And I was waiting for one of you to bring up the "OMG you must not be able to pass it so you think it sucks" excuse. That has nothing to do with it. It's a CHORE to play that's it.

Well, to each his own. Personally I prefer a challenge, and RttH gives it to me. It's no fun if you can just blast through career mode. Though how you can possibly say Maiden sucks is beyond me...what kind of music do you even listen to that's oh so better than Maiden?

Give me any album with Bruce Dickinson singing. Personally I would love The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, and Brave New World, but any Maiden would suffice. God, that cover of The Number of the Beast makes me want to cry when playing it, but the Bass is so much fun :).
PS: If we got Rime of the Ancient Mariner, I would cry. That song is pure epic.

Powerslave all around is an epic album. Particularily because of Rime of the Ancient Mariner. However, the singles (including 2 Minutes to Midnight) are also quite good. However, Nitro ruined the intro by ripping it off in "Freight Train". Nitro's vocals piss me off, and now whenever I hear 2 Minutes, it reminds me of Nitro. (I love Maiden, and know it came first, and it's a great song, but Nitro ruined the intro for me)
lol.

As bad as that comment is I'll agree that RttH wasn't great for rock band (on guitar/bass) due to being nearly all the gallop, every other song has many more riffs in it and would be better suited for RB.
To be honest you sound like you really don't have much experience with them outside of their 2 radio hits. Do yourself a favor and pick of piece of mind or powerslave, probably their two most friendly albums to a new listener. Really listen to them a few times and give them a chance, being in to metal and not liking or at least respecting Maiden is a crime.

Perhaps a Best of Rock Band Edition?
Phantom of The Opera
Hallowed be Thy Name
Killers
Moonchild
Infinite Dreams
Rime of The Ancient Mariner
Deja Vu
Stranger in A Strange Land
Paschendale
Wicker Man
Blood on the worlds hands
I can go on really to list every song but Weekend Warrior and think it would be better than no maiden at all.

I've listened to most of the Maiden albums available and, for me, it's gotta be The Number of the Beast. The tracks are all superb, and to be perfectly honest I really want to see how abusive Harmonix would make the solo in Children of the Damned.

Haha, just listening to it makes me cringe at the thought of how it will be charted :). But it is definitely a song that needs to be in Rock Band, along with 22 Acacia Avenue (I mean, it was parodied in Rock Band anyway as a venue) and Hallowed Be Thy Name. Essentially, just give us The Number of the Beast.

I was thinking this same thing before.
Number of the Beast, though while it may (or may not) be their best album, it is certainy their most well-known, and has the most songs that people are familiar with (ala Run To The Hills, Number of The Beast, Hallowed Be Thy Name) I'm also in the genel consensus of taking any Bruce maiden alums, as well as their debut and Killers.
getting some of their B-sides wouldnt be too bad either, just to throw a major-league curveball. for those who never heard em, they had some really good stuff.

Adrian Smith, Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Niko McBrian, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers. Six men overflowing with talent. But to be precise I said technical talent, technical ability, technical skill, it's all the same thing really. Personally I've never heard of any of the guitarists you've mentioned, and I pride myself on having a wide knowledge of some of the most influential guitarists. On that note, Yngwie Malmsteen.

Iron Maiden sucks
Please understand what Iron Maiden did during the 80's was far more than make great music. Dave Murray and Adrian Smith's guitar duals and use of harmony throughout many songs (e.g. the Trooper) helped influence a slew of metal guitarists. Steve Harris influenced many bass players with his fast galloping bass lines. Bruce Dickinson's vocals really helped define metal with his operatic, over-the-top grand style of singing. Nicko McBrain is often cited as an influential drummer due to his various styles of drumming and odd time signatures. Iron Maiden is often cited as the 2nd most influential metal behind the progenitors of the genre Black Sabbath. The same cannot be said about you're mediocre, generic metalcore band.
