This list spans 5 decades (10 songs per decade, I combined 50's and 60's). I tried to put avoid artists that are frequently requested--such as Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, AC/DC etc, though I couldn't resist a Beatles song or a Led Zep song here and there. I also tried to leave off artists that have already been in Rock Band or are in Rock Band 2.

I don't really like anything you listed besides Eddie money and Sum 41

Could have picked a better Sum 41 song for sure also

Yeah their certainly are more better Sum 41 songs I figured I'd pick the most popular song they've had for mainstream fans.

ah, confusion all around!
i suspect you're right. i think i read the flying lizards track as their only hit, "(money) that's what i want".

"I Bet You'd Look Good On The Dancefloor" is a band name??? wow. That's a stupid name for a band name.

Here's a hint, fix that part so you have the Artic Monkeys Second instead of first, that way its following your theme of Song - Artist

I love all these picks. If we had Johnny B. Goode, I would play the intro and then reset it, so I could play the intro again. When you hear the beginning of the song you can't help but to start tapping your toes, bobing your head or playing air guitar or all at the same time.

Some good picks but Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' American Girl is from 1976. Just a little mistake.

You could have picked better sings for some of the artists like

I Saw Her Standing There/While My Guitar Gently Weeps/Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
You Really Got Me Going/A Well Respected Man - The Kinks
Whole Lotta Love/Kashmir/Heartbreaker/Black Dog - Led Zepellin
White Room/Crossroads-Cream
Comfortably Numb/Money/Another Brick In The Wall-Pink Floyd
Bohemian Rhapsody/Under Pressure/I Want To Break Free/Killer Queen-Queen
Hold The Line/Africa(is also a good song) - Toto
Love Song/Boys Don't Cry/Why Can't I Be You- The Cure
Song 2/Coffee & TV - Blur
Lovefool/Erase-Rewind-The Cardigans
Time Won't Let Me Go/Believe-The Bravery
In Too Deep-Sum 41
Fake Tales of San Francisco/Brainstorm/Train or Bus-Arctic Monkeys

Don't get me wrong you picked great songs I love them all, but I personally would pick songs that people know(well..some of them at least):)

Great List!!

Woah I got alot of the years wrong---

yes, the Flying Lizards was a typo, shoulda been The Flys...the Flying Lizards only song was Money (That's What I Want) and I don't want it in Rock Band.

Their are certainly better songs by many of these artists that would be awesome in Rock Band. I was thinking While My Guitar Gently Weeps for the Beatles and then I thought of the guitar lick for Day Tripper and chose that instead. Alot of good choices you guys have.

I should threw in Beat It by Michael Jackson for the 80's
