Is there any plans on releasing Rock Band for Wii ?
As you're releasing it for PS2, it shouldn't be any problem with the hardware, so why no release for Wii when releasing for all other consoles?
There should be a large clientele for Rock Band on Wii too, specially now when Guitar Hero 3 is gonna be released on it.
I really hope it will come to Wii, I will buy it and I'm pretty sure lots of other Wii owners will do the same!

I hear 'ya, I really hope they can get it going for the Wii. The only wrinkle I see with Wii vs. PS2 is that Harmonix would need to create a controller that takes the Wiimote (I heard that Nintendo won't allow any other wireless controllers). I also think they are having enough problems making peripherals for the 3 platforms they are supporting already.
I'd love to hear some kind of time estimate though (Summer 2008, Christmas 2008... something).
So for the time being, I am going to buy the game only for PS2. Unfortunately I will be missing out on DLC, and drums, but I definitely don't want to buy drums for PS2 and have to rebuy them down the road.

I believe the largest obstacle is Nintendo's poorly defined online strategy and the lack of storage space on the Wii. I think that if they bring Rock Band to the Wii, they want to do it right, with online play and DLC. There are a lot of rumors floating around about potential storage solutions for the Wii that might be coming soon, and they may be waiting to see if it will be possible to offer DLC to Wii players, instead of the dumbed down PS2 version.

it will be last to get RB because the wii is for kids, i guess HMX is going after the adult consoles first.:(

It is bundled in a box with a mic similar to Boogie, but is compatible with the GH3 guitar so you'll have to get that as well if you want to play guitar or bass. At least to play the drums all you have to do is shake the Wii remote and nunchuk. Due to lack of storage you'll probably have to get a SD card, but then again all DLC tracks will be MIDI. Lulz

The problem isn't Kiddy Console vs. Adult Console. The problem is storage, online, and controllers. Rock Band is HIGHLY focused on those three things to deliver its core concept of being an online music delivery service + game.
Storage? Wii has 512 megs. You could store a few content drops on there, but not much, and you'd need to go through Nintendo's online store and approval processes. That's going to take some work considering they're only just now getting their WiiWare efforts underway.
Online? Again, their online efforts are sketchy at best. It's got the hardware, but it doesn't have a unifying service like PSN or XBL. Friend codes are not a "service".
Controllers? They could do a PS2 port because the PS3 controllers are exactly the same. But Wii is a whole other ball of wax. They'd need to do Wiimote integration, GameCube interfaces, or piggyback off its bluetooth implementation... all three of which require new technology, whereas the PS2 port required no new technology.
It's POSSIBLE to do Rock Band on the Wii. But these factors do get in the way, and if it's gonna be done, it's gonna be delayed considerably from the launch date of the source versions.

In particular when it comes to Rock Band, there's two big things missing in the online Wii experience:
1. Easy friend invites--playing Rock Band with friends online is a decent substitute for the live band, but playing Rock Band with strangers online just isn't that exciting. Especially since you can't hear the singer. This is one of the few games where playing online with friends excites me, but playing online with strangers really doesn't.
2. Voice support for chatting. What's the point of being in a band if you can't talk to the other members?

People keep saying that the poor online support and lack of a hard drive is holding back the Wii version, but wouldn't that just put it in the same boat as the PS2 version?
We care about that kind of stuff, but the vast majority of casual gamers don't. I can understand if Harmonix wants to hold out for Nintendo to offer a better storage solution though, since DLC is a cash crop.

Game Informer sort of confirmed it. In some holiday buying guide Rock Band was listed under PS3, 360 and Wii as a big title.

They can barely make the ps3 360 and ps2 copies to meet the demand, i don't think they can start making wii versions yet.
