Any ideas on how you're going to set up your place to play? ie, lighting? An actual stage? Fog machines?

I'm thinking about lighting but I'd like to get some input from you all as well. So far myu idea is to get a couple of those rotating (dare I say) "disco" balls that have multi colored lights. I think I've seen them at Target. Any other ideas?

Just the other day I saw some halloween leftovers at the store (fog machines, lights, etc.) for 50% off. I would have picked up a fog machine, but since I'll be playing the game alone, I'd kinda feel like an idiot. :p

Although that could make for some hilarious photo ops.

The exact thought was crossing my mind.

I am thinking fog machine (maybe a Halloween clearance item) and lighted strobes that are sound sensitive would really up the atmosphere.

My 7.1 surround system won't be hurting either. :D

I'm still working on my rider (shopping list) for managment (the wife) for the Wednesday night party/show. So far I have brews, beef patties, chips, pretzels and Swedish Fish...

Other than that I'm hoping a couple of slutty groupies wanna come backstage and meet the "band" (Please don't tell my wife!!!!)

The only lights I need are the glow of the TV, a lamp, and the flames coming off my drumsticks. :P

I'm going to be playing in my basement, which is really nice. It's got a bar, surround sound, lights that dim with the touch of a touch sensitive bar, and large Samsung LCD TV, and tons of room.

I don't really want to spend any money on concert lighting, my basement is good enough as it is.

Is humidity from a fog machine really a good idea with so much sensitive electronic equipment around? c.c

Open a window? Which would have an added bonus ~ The breeze might even give that really cool swirling effect to the fog. :p

And the cool air would stave off the Red Rings of Death!

I am almost done with my stage, I just have to tack down the carpet tonight. It is 11x7 and it will feature a fog machine, lights and lcd's that I am going to build into boxes that look like speaker boxes you see at concerts kinda wedge shaped. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Well, just got back from a trip to Spencers at the mall... Black lights, a 30.00 fog machine and a ****-BUT EFFECTIVE- disco ball w/ multicolored lights- that'll be for the wifey. :p

Also picked up a drum throne and guitar stands at a place here in San Antonio called Guitar Word. It might be franchised. Not sure. But I got a throne for 34.99. MSRP "says" 74.99. Of course anyone can mark a MSRP up, regardless, I feel I got a deal and thats all that matters! :D

And spent the rest of the morning chasing down that ever elusive broken street date store all around town...no luck:(

Spencer's, of course! A haven for all manners of flashy, decorative, useless but awesome crap! I almost forgot about that place. I'll have to drop by the mall this weekend and get some trimmin's from there for my own rocking out. :D Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah I almost forgot about them too. What I saw and really wanted- maybe I'll return the fog machine- is the motorized spotlights. I was just worried that since they move randomly, one of us would be blinded and get impaled by a drumstick, end up busting the screen on the HDTV or somethin...

...I dunno, that sounds pretty metal to me. *throws up the horns*

Just position the thing behind the band. That'd be appropos for stage lighting, anyway.

As far as games go, I think that's about the sexiest thing I've ever seen.

Right on, man

When I was playing "One" on GH3 my buddy turned on a fog machine while I was busting out that face melting solo at the end, caught me off guard and caused me to miss a note, but it was epic :D

I'm pretty proud of my setup. It didn't take long and it's pretty effective. What I did was slid a box over to make room for the drums that I rarely use, and scooted my chair back some so I was at a better angle with the TV. That was because watching it from the side messes me up sometimes on the hard guitar parts.
