I know you won't, but GH3 scared me. It was the biggest disappointment in gaming history (thanks a lot, RO!). The wireless guitar + dongle is not a good combination. I hope you know what you're doing and I have to trust that you can make it work. Why couldn't the guitars be wired? This is my most anticipated game in history, please dont let me down! I have a 57" 1080P Mitsubishi DLP and I don't want lag and unregistered notes! Anyone have experience with the wireless ps3 guitar yet??

I'm totally with you on this. GH3 on the PS3 is really bad unless you play on Easy or Medium, where its flaws don't really show up much.

I know there is a lot of speculation that there is controller lag in GH3 and that's the problem with the PS3 version, but I actually suspect that the problem has more to do with the coding of the game. Neversoft had less than a year to rebuild the entire GH game from the ground up and make it work (and the results, while disappointing, are still pretty impressive when seen in that light), and they have zero experience with rhythm games. Red Octane has been making the controllers for a long time, so I doubt the problem is the hardware. I think that for strategic business purposes (i.e. money) the focus was on getting XBox360 version as good as possible, and then there was a port to the PS3 late in the cycle, which as we've seen with other games produces less than optimal results. I remember seeing a comment in an interview that Harmonix had some early problems with their PS3 version but caught those early in the cycle and smoothed everything out. Activision/Red Octane can afford to use this release to let Neversoft get its feet wet, especially with the under-selling PS3, with the hopes that next year GH4 will deliver the goods. EA/MTV, on the other hand, are positioning Rock Band as a platform that you'll be using for a long time. They would be much less willing to cut corners with a console that may blossom in the coming year and become an important ongoing revenue source (from DLC).

Anyway, just my thoughts on the subject. Also, the QA team at Harmonix is aces - I am sure if there were problems they have been identified and sorted out. Harmonix has been working on this *way* longer than Neversoft had to work on GH3.

even if the controller does have some lag to It'd imagine the Super lag calibrator should nullify any problems.

The problem with contoller lag is that no matter how well you calibrate the game itself, the lag still throws you off. Even if there is no visual or audio lag, if there is controller lag, then there will always be a delay on screen between the time you strum and the time you see that your strum has registered. On harder songs you need that instant visual feedback to keep yourself on target. That's one of the reasons GH3 feels "mushy" to me.

If you have controller lag, I'd say it's a problem with your setup, not the game or controller. I have GH3 on the PS3, and although there are occasional problems with missed notes, it plays beautifully. Considering my PS3, game, and controller are necessarily the exact same as yours, I'd look into your TV or interference or something.

Agreed

My set up is the same except 50" Sony 1080p. No lag problems for me only finger coordination problems. Slayer kicks my a$$.

It has been said that both consoles , 360 & PS3, will indeed be the same polished product on its respective system. I have faith in Harmonix, as they've never failed.

Except for not getting Tool. Thats a small fail, but something I am willing to forgive when they announce Tool DLC!:D
