Let's be mature here please, I'm not talking about ED or anything lol. But seriously, is anyone a fan of the show Deadwood? It used to be on HBO and I never actually watched it during it's first run, but I was at a friend's house recently and we were watching a few eps and I really got hooked and ended up borrowing the first two seasons from her.
I ended up staying up till like 5AM watching the rest of the first season. I am really impressed with the whole show in general. It's hard to explain, but if you watch the show, you can tell how much work they put into the nuances and trying to make it somewhat more realistic than other portrayals of late 19th century America.
The show belongs to Ian McShane, however, he's the actor who plays Al Swearingen. Watch this best of clip. Be aware...it's very NSFW lol.
(The part at 1:00-1:18 is classic and the hardest I've probably ever laughed..impeccable timing..keep in mind..they just got word that a lil girl is ok, but her family got slaughtered)

I loved that series!! I have the complete 3 seasons.....to bad it got canceled.:(
According to HBO the show was going incredibly over budget, and they had to pull the plug.

Deadwood is one of my favorite tv shows of all time. Ian McShane is absolute genius as Al Swearengen.

I saw the first season and part of season two before other stuff got in the way. I have thought about getting the DVDs. Did they end the show with season three or did they leave a cliff-hanger that will never be resolved?

It's not the most satisfying ending possible, but season three ends similarly to the first two... it ties up the season, but is somewhat open-ended. Three is a must-watch if you liked the first two, though.

seriously, the best show ever.
action, drama, suspense, comedy, a little romance blended with actual tidbits of history mixed with hollywood,
waiting for the miniseries to wrap it up

I'm afraid you'll be waiting a long while, then. I believe the set has been taken apart adn the cast has moved on to different projects...

Yeah Deadwood was about 10x better than the last 3 seasons of the Sopranos.

Yeah, that totally sucks! I hadn't ever heard why it was cancelled...hard to imagine why it would be so far over budget??
Great show though. I actually knew quite a few people that tried watching and couldn't get past the dialect...they spoke alot different back then and apparently it was too much for some people.
They had a very proper-sounding way of cursing each other out and I loved it!

I read somewhere that the budget was the issue, but not because it had gone way over...it's complicated...
I read that because it was only really popular in North America and not overseas where they also distribute, that it cost too much for just releasing here...
I loved the show, and was very disappointed that it ended...

If it wasn't for the Wire then Deadwood would probably be my most favorite show ever. The writing was astounding and the performances were even better.

That made me laugh. He says it so many times that at first I was suprised and then it became as common as any other word in the show. :D
