If it meant Rock n Roll instrumentals of FF7 songs in RB i'd be for it! :-P

But regardless I'd prefer it for my Xbox, cuz PS3 is lame, but that's just my opinion.

Wow . . . . . . go away. Wrong forum and bad taste.
I assume you aren't a fan of RPGs, because as far as RPGs go, Final Fantasy VII is regarded as one of, if not THE best.

I lament that I have never played FF7. I wonder if I can mod my PSP and find a ROM?

Wow.

Anyhow. Didn't like 7 as much as 9.

Chalk it up to personal preference.

Oh, and wrong forum. :P

Anyone know how to mod a PSP so that I can play FF7? :D

Javino

it'd be hard if you got a new psp, but the old fatties are easy to mod, i'd just torrent a psx emu and ff7 though if i were you, much easier

This really is the completely wrong place for this... But, since I do love that game I couldn't resist.

I would love to see a quality remake, but I'm afraid of what they would do to the game if they did. For example, I loved the original Tomb Raider. Incredible game design and story telling, creating an absolutely refreshing atmosphere. The Tomb Raider Anniversary game (the remake) was absolutely ******ed and ruined what was great about the original. They took it from an awesome game to just another video game. I wouldn't want that to happen to something that is almost considered sacred to many gamers out there.

QFT. Didn't even finish it. Got way too bored. Sold it for a profit though. FF9 on the other hand...

I'd buy a remake of FF7. I think it's been long enough since I obsessed over it way back at its launch that I'd be able to enjoy it again.

I'd love a remake of seven but the greatest Final Fantasy and greates game ever is Final Fantasy 6.

FF9 was the best of the PS1 FF games (continuing the trend where the last FF game on a system was the best... 3 on the NES, 6 on the SNES, and 12 on the PS2)... that being said, FF7 is the most open to such a remake due to nostalgia and its unique presentation. S-E did a tech demo of remaking the opening scene from FF7 on the PS3, but that's been all we've seen of it since.

Part of me is intrigued by the notion, but the other part thinks that they might not be able to recapture the magic of FFVII.

I think I'll stick with replaying my original discs over and over again. Time to race some more Chocobos!

I'm surprised people liked FF9 so much. Of the ones that I have played, FF7 and FFX were the best ones. Didn't like eight even though the graphics were absolutely beautiful for the time, and 9 just didn't do it for me either.

FF8 was amazing too. I loved it. Especially the part of mainly dark-haired characters instead of blonde emo boys everywhere.

VIII made the mistake of addicting me to that damned card game - I played that way more than I ever played the main storyline. Don't think I ever finished it for that matter. Maybe it was because Squall never seemed to have much personality, and I didn't really give two squats about what happened to him.

IX was much better than I expected. I still played the card game alot in that too, but I was involved enough in the plot to want to see it through until the end.

Still haven't finished X - one of these days I'll get back to it.

Yes I played the damn card game for hours on end. It mad me do side quests and stupid stuff just to get better cards.

Final Fantasy is my favorite series of all time and i love all but 11. Why did they have to make an MMO. I still need to beat 12 because I level grinded in the desert for 30 hours at the begining and then let my friend borrow it.

My list of Final Fantasy Greatness would be
FFVI-FFVII-FFIV-FFVIII-FFX-FFIII-FFIX-FFXII-FFII-FFI

Also I would have to throw the tactics games in there somewhere in the middle.

I would like to see a remake if they kept the same feel as the original.
I would actually prefer a FF VIII remake, because that's my favorite RPG of all time.

Yeah, it got pretty ugly! Part of the reason I never made any real progress in the game proper was that I would revert to a previous saved game if I lost any of my precious rare cards.

I've never had a problem with gambling in real life, but my Squall definitely needed to call Gambler's Anonymous!

you are my hero

remake FF7 for all, not just ps3

FF8 had a fantastic junction system, but that was about it. story was nonexistent. but the card game did rock...
FF9 was a disgrace to the old FFs... it tried to be FF4 and failed
FF10 has the best story of any FF ever, but was extremely linear
FF12 had the most addicting battle system. i spent hours refining my gambits, and more fetching bounties.
13 has some mighty big shoes to fill. we'll see if it lives up to the legacy

Don't you mean 2 giant ISOs? That's how big and epic FF7 was, and I hate JRPGs!

Opposite for me. FFVII was sweet, FFIX got boring.

Square-Enix is smart business wise. Hence FFXIII being on the 360. More people have 360s, therefore, more copies will get sold on that system. It's not like Sony has some sort of contract with SE.

I disagree that FF7 is the best in the series (FF6) or the best RPG ever (Chrono Trigger) but even the biggest hater of FF7 would admit that a remake would sell like hotcakes. I would buy it, not gonna lie, but I just wish SE would stop doing remakes and try to make a good new game.

No, they just have an ownership interest in S-E. :)

That being said, I don't think it will affect total sales all that much except maybe in the US and Australia... the 360 is basically a one-region wonder.

1. FF7 remake would sell ps3s.. period.. but i agree it should be for both consoles
2. infinite undiscoverey & the last remnant. if you dont know about these two titles, you should

FF7 as a series is such an enormous cash cow for Square Enix that I can totally foresee them making an updated version for the PS3.

I do love FF6, but I certainly can't deny that FF7 is the most popular of the series, and for the good reason that Square keeps pushing it, directly or indirectly. Seriously, how many spin-offs has FF7 had already? There was that movie Advent Children, then the games Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core, plus the mass of cameos in the Kingdom Hearts series.

Chrono Cross was awesome too. I loved that game. I was in between FFs, so I read a review that made it sound like I would enjoy it. The perfect score helped sway me too. ;)

The battle system rawked.

Final Fantasy VII was release on the day of my 15th birthday, september 13 1997. My father gave it to me as a christmas present. After playing pool with my dad and friends that day, i went back home and started to play. besides going to school, i played the game. After a week i completed the game for the first time, and that was it for me. FF7 was the best game ever, and i started another playtrough right away.

Say whatever you want about FF7, it was the best gaming experience i felt in my life and no one is going to take that away from me.
