View Full Version : Still need to know if it's region free - and it's getting urgent!

I know there has been a lot of threads about this, but maybe someone can finally answer this, since the release is so near and some people already have the game.

And yeah, I know the PS3 version will be region free, but I'm curious about the 360 version.

Because I'm in a bad situation right now. I have both consoles, and I have preordered the PS3 version in a german import shop, since I'm sure I can play that version on my PS3.

But I actually want the 360 version. Why? Because I can't buy the DLC on my Ps3. My creditcard doesn't work in the US Store, but on the XBL Marketplace I can at least use Microsoft Point Cards to buy the DLC tracks.

I know, I could just relax and forget about the DLC and wait for the game to be released in Europe. (Whenever that is) But I know that I can't wait when I see those tracks on the Marketplace/PSN Store. I'm even more excited about the DLC since the songs I like the most are DLC tracks.

So - I talked with the shop owner today and I can still change my preorder from Ps3 to 360, but well... I don't have much time for that anymore. If they game comes out and I still don't know if the 360 version will be region free... this would kinda suck.

I only have a 360, and I can only reasonably afford to import the game. Let alone buy another console to play it on.

I NEED to know if the game is region free on the 360 or not within the next couple of days to have any hope of getting a copy. I have a girlfriend in florida who can pick it up for me, but I need to know before the release day if I'm going to tell her to pick it up for me, any longer and I will miss out.

I'm jsut getting a little panicky with all this talk of shortages and so on.

Definitely not alone. Alot of us really want to know asap. If it's region free, I'll be importing in seconds, but I have a bad feeling it's not region free for the Xbox 360.

I have a glimmer of hope that it will be, nearly all of the big titles on the 360 recently have been region free.

Here's hoping!

is the region free listed on the box, or would someone actually have to test it? because if it's simply stated on the box or game case, im sure someone here could help you out. i havent seen anything in stores yet, but if i do i'll post a reply.

Hm... I don't think it'S written on the box.

You probably only know by either testing it on a PAL console, or I think there are programs in the net that can check that! You probably have to make an ISO of the game, but I don't know exactly, I've never done that.

Any suggestions on where to import this from? 360 would be nice if it turns out to be region free but I'd be willing to buy a PS3 just for this game!

Yup, not region free on the 360 but it's perfectly region free on the ps3. New console for me *wrings his wallet dry*.

Someone already did, it's NOT region free on the 360. I don't have the link for the thread it was posted in, but it's around somewhere.

Well not exactly, that's to do with the TV signal more so that the region, and it's largely irrelevent these days unless you have a much older TV.

I imported GH III for my PS3 and it had Region 1 plastered all over the box and still played fine on my EU PAL PS3.

As above, TV signals and region encoding are two diffferent things.

I use www.gamehubs.com to import region free games for my 360. These guys always know in advance of release dates whether they're region free or not. I've never thought for a second RB was region 0 because gamehubs haven't got it listed.

Shame :(
