hehe sorry about the title, but I've had this idea in my head just now, and I thought I'd share it.

Do you think it could be possible that RockBand is in sort some kind of way to bring new musicians into the world? I mean, maybe Kinda like MTV had this idea, since lately we're being *poluted* with all these pop-singing, lipsying artists, it was kinda MTV's revenge to it? hehe, I just realized that my post wasn't clear. What I meant to say is that MTV would be responsible for turning their clients (us Rockband players) into future artists.

Because I keep reading about how some people bought real instruments after playing Rockband...

What are your thoughts on this? :)

Unfortunately, this may be the case. However, you must realize that we haven't ALWAYS had new artists as our DLC so consistently...

In theory, MTV would have some pull with the music industry and would be bringing in more and different artists. In reality, MTV stopped being about music many years ago and now plays nothing but crap in between reality shows aimed at teenagers. So far we've had the MTV2 "indie" pack (not really indie rock) which was garbage.

MTV2 doesn't even play music.

All of the MTVs only play music when everyone is asleep. Reality shows suck. :(

And no, I don't think that this is MTVs doing, although HMX can get the rights to more songs with MTV.

hehe, pretty soon we'll have a HMX label signing record deals with people from these forums. :D
