I was looking for this as a response to a post in another thread but this was too good , it deserves it's own post. Not really sure what possessed Mick to think walking through the crowd would be a good idea :D

just a question....this is like the second or third live Stones vid I've seen...does Jagger sacrifice singing ability to be really jazzy and funky or something? Like, I know he has a unique voice and all, but he sounds really off, but it sounds like he MEANS to sound way off

Like a lot of rock singers Jagger's really more performer than singer in a live setting. The vocals take a back seat to the overall performance. David Lee Roth is another prime example of this. In both cases when they want to they can be quite good vocally live but usually are too busy performing to worry about hitting all the right notes and singing every word.

I'll bet security was real happy about that one. (I've gotten into this habit lately when somebody posts a vid I end up going to youtube and watching related videos for 45 minutes...haha). Found this one when I was there. (Made me wish the song was in the game...would be a blast to play).

Agreed...200%. I think I've watched that video about 7 or 8 times already.
(How many times have you seen them live?)

Oddly enough only three. First was the the first night in Toronto for the Steel Wheels show's at CNE Stadium. The next two were two of the small club shows they played in Toronto. One was at the old The RPM Club in '94 the other was at The Horseshoe in "97 I think it was. Both are really small, probably around 700 people I figure. In both cases i was extremely lucky to know the right people to get me in. Great shows.

Here's a bit of the one that was at The RPM

I had a feeling you'd probably seen them more than once. That's a great vid. too. Honky Tonk Women (and "New Girl Now" by Honeymoon Suite) are two of the songs that inspired me to buy a drum kit years ago. Don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to anything by the Stones.

LOL Honeymoon Suite! Really? That's awesome! I auditioned for them once many moons ago. Didn't get the gig but it was cool. Good guys, still are.

haha...I had a friend years ago that covered that song in his band. Went to watch him play one night and got hooked on the song. (You should think about writing a book....awesome stuff!!).
