I absolutely cannot wait for this game! Everything I've seen so far seems to best Guitar Hero (which I also love dearly). Here's some more things I'd LOVE to see RB do better than GH. Sorry, if some of these requests have been posted before. Just take as me reinforcing those requests! :)

Ultimate ROCK BAND *FEATURE* Wishlist Part I

1. At song completion, to be able to immediately have the option to jump right to practice mode whether I beat the song or not.

2. At song completion, to be able to immediately have the option to jump right to right to the Leaderboards to compare score to friends.

3. At song completion, the results screen displays not only the tradition information that GUITAR HERO has shown (score, stars, etc.) but also informs you if you achieved a new personal/band high score by showing how it fell in within your top 3-5 scores.

4. Leaderboards rank you not only on your all time best score, but also break it down by difficulty. Even though my score on HARD might be bigger than my EXPERT score on a song, I’d like to see how my EXPERT score compares to my friends’ expert scores.

5. Leaderboards rank you using a Career Score ala GH, but in addition to having an ALL SONGS or CAMPAIGN ONLY scores, players have the ability to filter whether the ALL SONGS score includes Downloadable Content or not. (This is to allow people to rank themselves against others who haven’t “boosted” their All Songs score using the DLC)

6. Leaderboards display separate Single and CO-OP scores for 2,3, and 4 person co-op bands.

7. Leaderboard info also can be filtered according to instrument used.

8. Leaderboard information is available online at the rockband.com website and includes more detailed information such as the song “stats” (perhaps being able to see where the trouble spots were or when they deployed “star power”) and information about their band. (part of country/world, what instruments where used during co-op scores, etc.)

9. At the song selection screen, if Rock Band uses a single list like GH, ALWAYS have the selected song default to the last song you played, whether you beat the career or not. I hate always having to start at the bottom of the setlist in GH (at the last song you haven’t beaten) and have to scroll all the way to the top if I want to play Strutter or something.

10. Song selection screen navigation moves horizontally to select the set, then scrolls down to choose the song in that specific set. This will allow players to access songs quicker instead of going up and down a single LONG list.

11. Give option to allow changing of difficulty when playing career mode in an easier fashion. i.e. in OPTION menu, be able to toggle whether the game will always ask which difficulty setting you want to play at the start of a song at or not. Basically it will work like QUICKPLAY works, but within the career. (Perhaps pushing the Orange button on the Song Selection screen would change the difficulty on the fly? Kinda like DDR does.)

12. For online co-op play, give option to NOT hear the other players singing voice on my end, instead hearing the original vocal track instead. If the singer is terrible, messes up or starts acting stupid, I really don’t want to hear it coming out of my speakers.

13. For online co-op play, give the host to ability to control of who plays what instrument.

14. For online RANKED battles (if there are any), matches should be matched not only according to skill level, but as to how may LIVE people are in the band. Just a guitarist and bassist, shouldn’t be able to play against a band that has 4 live members in ranked.

15. When playing a song, please don’t have the game make that ANNOYING sound Guitar Hero II makes when a player misses a note after getting a x4 multiplier (or at least give the option to toggle it off in the Settings menu). The little “clink, clink” sound is fine (Guitar Hero 1 handled this better) but that big CRAAANG sound is just awful. Ultimately I’d rather have no missed-note sound at all, instead just having the instrument cutout and get a screen shake or something visual as a penalty, making for a more enjoyable play experience.

16. [ADDED] (thanks to starsandskulls for reminding me) Jukebox Mode allows automatic loading of songs (hopefully without much load time in between). This mode could be set to random song selection, done in order starting from whatever song the player picks first, or a custom/favorites list created by user.

I put Part I because I'm sure I'll think of some more things as time goes on. Here's hoping EA shows this game playable at the E For All Expo!!!! I'll be there!

good, but lets have a function to turn this on or off

Also, I would love to see you be able to play multiple songs at a time, with no loading screens just play one song after another from a preselected playlist. Like play 4 or 5 songs one after another without stopping like a real concert!

All I want is a venue in my hometown, San Antonio TX. And a Wii version with no gimmicks and regular instruments. =]

One thing I would really appreciate is on the song selection screen.. to the right of your score it should show your highest % you completed the song at. we know 100% is gold stars but it would be cool to see how close we've gotten previously.

Also, when highlighting a song to play, a button should be used to 'quick look up leaderboards' so you can check your place without having to back all the way out to the menu and go surfing through to find it.

those two particular things I would really like to see.

and more metal.
=D

Heres a neat idea,

You know how each instrument has their own career mode?

How about a boss song exclusive to each instrument?

ex. Moby Dick for drums
or Child in Time for vocals

None of those songs HAVE to be the boss song, theyre just what I think would be tough.

Each instrument already has a career, cept Bass.

I can see a pretty cool menu for this. It would be like a CD binder sort of thing. Before you beat all the songs you just have a piece of notebook paper with the tier written on it, when you beat one, it gets crossed off and when you beat the entire tier, there would be like CD's or album covers in there with the song on it instead of a ragged piece of paper. It would be like your band recorded the song or bought the album or something.

Cool? Lame?

I already knew that, the first question I asked was hypothetical :).

I just think it would be neat to have a boss song for each one, a song that wouldn't be played in any other set list.

lol, not asking much are you?

I think a few of your ideas will make it in but a few might make things a bit too confusing for the average user.

What if it's an ugly venue, but a good song? Also, 40+ boss songs?

GHIII has boss songs instead of encores. We don't need RB to turn into failure.

I'd like to see a battle axe peripheral which doubles as a microphone stand so I can slay listeners to pop and emo music between the syllables of my true gravelly vocals.

This one caught my attention because I've wanted it myself. For these styles of games, you're constantly competing with yourself for personal bests and high scores. It would be nice if there was a convenient way within the interface to see how your current performance compares to your others... was it above average? did you just miss your personal best? Hard to tell those things in the standard GH interface.

Frets on Fire does this after every performance... it is GREAT!

Very cool list. I like most of the ideas, and I hope some of them get added.

What Im trying to say is if they had "Moby Dick" or "Child in Time" as the Jordan if you will for each instrument, they would be pretty much unplayable for any other instrument. Ill use Moby Dick as an example.

Moby Dick is an instrumental, so singing is out. Guitar and bass only survive for less than a minute, so they would be boring. My point is, I think it would be cool to have 1 boss song for each instrument, that may otherwise be unplayable in co-op.

You follow? This is just an idea, and I dont really see how 4 exclusive songs could turn a game into a failure (as you said)

No, because you said one for each venue, and there are 40+ planned.

Maybe I read it wrong...

In that case, Soothsayer or Nottingham Lace for Guitar.

I was thinking about this today:

If youve ever played Chromehounds, there is a level for each Role Type (Soldier, Heavy Gunner, Defender, Commander, Scout, Sniper), and what you do affects your level. I think that they should have something similar for Online. Like, you could say "Only Level 5 Vox and up Can Audition" at your band audition. It would be a way to filter out people who just mess around and stuff from the people who want to play the game.

They could have beaten every song on Vox and still joke around after the audition.

lmao, yea, but what if they have live shows others can see and he does it. What if he is all good, then you get to a Battle of the Bands, and on the last rock-off against HMX, he blurts out nothing but "I LIKE HAIRY-" You can guess the rest.

I think in the GameInformer article, if you missed too many notes, then you'd get greyed out. Im sure by the second, "Hairy", all but 40 year old pervs will mute him.

But the moral of that story, is that you shouldve realized he was a jacka** before you entered Battle of the Bands.

Lets say he was perfect till then. That, and star power also brings more points, so you would need it to beat HMX and their uber sexiness.

But yea, gotta be careful when making bands.

That's a great list of ideas, even if I don't care for all of them.

I love to play co-op with my friends, but it's even better when you feel like you're working towards something such as unlockables and getting a nice score for the high score/leader boards. I hope they add a good amount of variety for these across all instuments.
