nothing from this era is really that good, i mean look at the popular bands right now. Fall out boy, panic at the disco. It's awful at least in the 90's we had Nirvana

but what about lesser known 00's songs?
surely there's something from past 8 songs you've enjoyed...

im not saying everything is horrible there's a song every now and then i like but i just want more frome the past decades
I hate Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy. I would like to see more 70's, 80's, and definitely more 90's songs but I think your basing songs of the new millennium on this crappy pop/rock. Not all songs and bands from the 00's are bad. If you search hard enough I believe you'll be able to find something from this millennium you'll like. Oh and I agree with every band on your signature for being on Rock Band. I'm all for some Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, AC/DC, and some Led Zeppelin if they'd ever release some which would never happen because Jimmy Page has turned down all offers for music video games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

I wouldn't mind more from the '00s but I wish we had more of a variety being released. What happened to all the classic rock?

no
actually if only 00's content came out from now on, my only problem with it would be that other people would be unhappy and I like others to get stuff they like too
but the majourity of my favourite music is from the 00's

i can agree that it's about time to catch some other decades up with the 00's (particularly the 80's), but i don't want to just stop getting newer stuff either.

Way to completely shut out a whole decade of music because you don't like the bands at the top of the charts.
There are plenty of good bands in this decade. Queens of the Stone Age, the White Stripes...I'm sure if I had my iTunes library in front of me, I could name some more. Bottom line is, just making a blanket statement that nothing from this decade should be in Rock Band is kind of ignorant. Also, are you talking about bands that started in the 00's or are you including older bands that are still releasing new material in the 00's. Rush just made one of their best albums in a long time. NIN is still making some great stuff.
There was plenty of crap in the 90's too. The end of the 90's gave us Creed, Limp Bizkit, etc. Let's not even get into what was at the top of the charts in the 80's.
Turn off the radio, make an effort, and find some good new bands.

People who say that new music is not any good are just as obnoxious as people who say that classic rock sucks because it's old. There are TONS of great new bands out there right now, if all you know about modern music is Panic at the Disco and Fall Out Boy then it's your fault for not knowing more about music. There were crappy pop bands in the 60's, 70's and 80's too, you know.
We want more 00's music, but not metalcore or pop-punk, but the good stuff like indie rock.

Yes, what exactly did happen to all the classic rock? And why?

The most popular stuff is pretty much always crap, no matter what decade you look at. Even Nirvana was pretty much "out" for half of the 90's. Open up your ears, there are fantastic bands out there.

I would like to note that there was mostly older music for like 8 months straight also

I think they should focus about 20% 60's, 20% 70's, 20% 80's, 20% 90's, and 20% 2000's... maybe put a little less focus on 2000's for now though. There has been enough of that.

I do agree we need a lot more classic rock around here. it would be great actually. But you can't go around bashing the 00's just 'cause a few crappy bands are around. The 00's have a lot of good bands that rock band could use more of. To list a few: Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, The Cribs, Foxboro hot tubs, Franz ferdinand, The Hives, Interpol, kaiser chiefs, the killers, The libertines, metric, Queens of the stone age, the strokes, the viones, the white stripes. Do I have a point?
I agree, we need less of those bad bands, but there ARE quirte a few good new 00's bands.
If anything, i think the mid 80s was the worst time for music.

I'd agree with that. There were a FEW songs that I liked... but it was just too... awful for the most part.

Thing is, there is good music from all decades on genres, but a good number of the 00s song that have come out are just bleh to me.

This is the most perfect comment yet in this thread. Couldn't agree more.

Way to generalize everything. Yeah, let's hate 10 years of music because of two emo-pop bands. That makes a whole lot of sense.
There are many good groups from the 2000 that aren't necessarily mainstream or that aren't emo-pop. Look around a little bit. There are tons of recent bands that would provide a far better experience than bands from the 70's and 80's.

This topic is fail
You need to get off of mainstream
For one thing Nirvana played their instruments no better than FOB and PATD
Second of all FOB is a top seller according to the dlcstats page
There are several bands out right now that are similar to older bands including :
Airbourne (Sounds exactly like AC/DC)
Alter bridge
Black tide
Coheed and cambria
Hinder
Puddle of mudd (Sounds alot like Nirvana)
Rev theory
The list could go on and on
Listed puddle of mudd since you mentioned how you think nirvanas good or whatever in your post lol
And then there are insanely awesome metal bands right now like Arch enemy , Black tide , and Machine head just to name a few
Also many older bands are still making new music like Motley crue , Rush , Iron maiden , and several other bands
Then theres stuff from other countries you have probably never heard of but thats great like Nightwish
You just don't even have a clue how much great modern music there is and what I listed doesn't even scratch the surface its just a few examples

*Points to sig* No more untill 2009.
There's been almost double the consecutive WEEKS with a 00's song for DLC as there 60's songs TOTAL through RB,RB 2 and DLC. That's crap. There's more ****ing Johnathan Coulton songs than Rolling Stones!
AND
At least get some decent stuff,it's mostly been complete **** and rucksy. More Airbourne and SOAD,get Nightwish,Rammstein,Audioslave,Velvet Revolver,DKM,Flogging Molly,H.I.M...there's more, mostly punk but I can't think of them right now and if you're going to throw out promo singles again,at least get good ones, like the new Motorhead one.
