I do like the RB branded drum sticks, but I went and got a set of the Sluggo-recommended Zildjian sticks with the rubber core.

I can see them being beneficial given I will pound the drum to death for the first week.

Here are the sticks... Pretty sweet, I like the red ones a lot. Once I get some money up i'll probably buy some sticks, guitar skin, and a few shirts :p

Some nice stuff in there, but wow, the prices... $50 for the drum bag? I'd rather just get my drums beat up in transit and replace them for, what, $30 more down the road? Some of the guitar skins are nice, but they don't cover up enough of the surface of the guitar IMO.

I admit the drumsticks are pretty cool though (even cooler than the ones given out on the tour), although we're trying to look into sound-muffling options... Did whoever has the box of mousepads ever get a chance to test that theory? Unfortunately, we live in an apartment and can't always crank it to 11... Although come Christmas day, all bets are off.

I think this one is my favorite for now:

Zildjian 5A Wood Anti-Vibe

These sticks have a rubber core designed to dampen the impact of repeated striking on your hand. Targeted for use on electronic kits and practice pads.

Based on my previous experiences, this could be a good thing. I remember my first night owning Guitar Hero... fret hand so sore after 6 hours that my first play of Freebird was actually painful.

Knowing myself, I will play through the setlist regardless of my comfort level. So I figured I would hedge my bets with a cheap set of sticks that might make me more comfortable.

That "Live the Life" section is so cool. You can just imagine people actually starting a career in music because of this game. It has been said before, and must be said again: This is so much more than just a game.

Harmonix, I love you.

I'm serious considering getting that Fender FR50CE, have an okay electric and a basic enough acoustic, that guitar just looks soooo sweet. Going to pop into my regular guitar shop tomorrow to see if he can get me one for a good price.

A few years ago I got a pair of drum sticks from Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), among random other stuff, at the end of a concert. He wrapped Easton sports tape on the sticks, presumably for grip purposes. Maybe I should pull those out and use whenever playing Learn To Fly, and have this insane out of body experience.

I actually really want that first shirt in the girls section.

AND the black heart necklace.

But MAN! Those clothes are expensive!

The funny thing is that the website recommended I buy them at a drum store 2 blocks from where I grew up. The store had been there nearly 20 years and I had not once ever noticed it was even there.

When I played in HS, that's what I used to do too. I think a bunch of people do that for the grip.
