Since we have yet to get scans from the magazine review, this will have to do.

OXM's Review of the game that will consume our lives!!!
http://www.oxmonline.com/article/reviews/editors-choice-gallery/rock-band
Edit: We posted that at the exact same time! Oh well... OXM gives it a 9.5! The review doesn't shed light on anything we didn't already know, but it is worth the read--if not only to pass the time until it is in our grubby little hands. Rock on.

They like it!
I'm not sure how this particular site scores, but 9.5 sounds good to me.

No Bass solo career? That's interesting lol. I don't care though :)

Nice read. You can really tell how enthused the writer is about the game. I especially liked what he said in his closing paragraph.
"Rock Band isn’t about getting 100% or even the Special Edition bundle’s hefty but well-worth-it $170 price tag; it’s really about how exhilarated you feel when you play."
Thats what rocking out is all about. Not about getting 100% on songs, but how music can make you feel.

Sounds pretty good to me...I'm sure it will need some work (GHI style), but this is clearly the new kid on the block.

"We particularly enjoyed the guitar and bass options, which include custom sunburst finishes and a DIY sticker kit."
Hooray!

No bass solo career? Meh. Big deal. I am glad though that there's an option to play bass in Quickplay now, though... the only time I could play John the Fisherman's bassline solo was in practice mode before. Sweet deal!
The review's nothing special, but this is one of those games where any review's gonna read like a fact sheet with a score stapled at the bottom. Unless a reviewer goes into deep nuance (and few do) there's not much more to say other than "Whee!". :)

Yeah, we've known there wasn't a career for a while now. The quickplay addition is amazing, though.
Baby steps...

Yeah, well it really deserves a 10.0, its completely groundbreaking!!!
The graphics look waaay better than GH 3, for example.
Least a 9.9!

you may hear some out-of-sync bleed through the headset, and the singer?s signal won?t be transmitted due to lag: the other players will hear the pre-recorded vocal track. (The singer can hold RB to chat.)
It's little touches like this that make me happy. So the singer can use the mike to chat with the other players.

sweet article. Yeah you could definitely tell how excited that review was when writing... Got me even more excited (if that's even possible anymore ;))!
