Anybody have ideas for quirky or cool achievements they could put into Rock Band? Here's mine:

World Music: Play in a band with artists from four different countries

Spinal Tap Award: Have five different drummers over the lifetime of your band

Maybe a ,"Have all clothing from this category" award. Like a full on despising goth girl or a groovy classical guy could ge an award for having all the items from one of the 4 categories. Maybe a lefty player one like in guitar hero.

For being an uber drummer (100% on a song), the Bonham award!

The usual beat all songs on this difficulty, yada yada.

A game of this magnitude needs to have like a gajillion achievement points available for allocation. Microsoft may have them fall slightly short of that, though T_T

Oh, they definitely need points for 100%ing a whole dificulty level this time, though

I was wondering about RB achievements myself.

IMO, the GH2 360 achievements could have been a lot better on a lot of fronts.

Difficulty (or lack thereof) - The name "achievement" implies a certain degree of difficulty or challenge. There is no "achievement" no "difficulty" no "challenge" in failing a song on easy, viewing the credits, trying the tutorials, etc. etc. I can understand the need for a few "newbie" ones to introduce the game, but these should be in the minority.

Scoring: The same amount of gamerscore for 5 starring all of expert or beating expert Jordan can be achieved by watching the credits or spending money at the store.... are those sets of tasks even remotely on par with one another?

Loopholes: Sounds pretty intimidating to have an achievement for a pefect 100% performance... until you see that it's possible to round this up on "trogdor - easy" in about 2 minutes. 1000 note streak in co-op? Just pull out heart shaped box on easy/easy. Lefty flip got you down? Pull out a song on easy difficulty.

In summary, achievement are fun and can add a lot of interest in the game. But they need to be challenging and designed well. What if the lefty flip achievement had required a minimum of medium difficulty and 95%+ accuracy... that might have been a fun little challenge instead of a "gimmie".

Ive given this some thought myself. The problem with guessing achievements is that we dont know all of the ways you can play this game. Here are a few that would be cool:

1 Man Band: Beat every campaign (Guitars, Vox, Drums)
Trans-Atlantic Flight: Play with someone from Europe (Europe Version would say "Play With Someone From The States")
Songwriter Award: Write a song in the game
Frontman: Lead an online band and get a top score on the leaderboards.
Garage Band: Play a game with 4 players on one 360.

def lep award: play a song with 1 stick? i know thats gay but thats what i thought of haha

That's not gay, but there are three major flaws with that.

1. The game can't tell if you are using one stick or two.
2. What about double hits? (EG; Red and Green)

Neal Peart award: 100% a drum part on expert (or beat the expert drum campaign).
Bob Dylan award: Fail a vocal part for failure to enunciate despite hitting the right pitch most of the time.
Gong award: Fail a part in co-op, and have your fellow band members refuse to star power you back in.

Zack de la Rocha award: Score perfect on rhythm and pitch when singing vocals, but replace all of the song's lyrics with the words 'F***' and 'Bush'.

The Def Leopard achievement. Play a song on drums with one arm. I'm probably going to hell for that one...

Edit: apparently somebody beat me to this one.

I've always enjoyed games that use viral achievements. So basically, someone from harmonix plays online. Everyone that plays with them gets an achievement. Then everyone that plays with the second group gets an achievement. And on and on. Sort of like playing a game of tag. Those are fun to see how fast the acheivement spreads.

"Trans-Atlantic Flight: Play with someone from Europe (Europe Version would say "Play With Someone From The States")"

I love how this achievement assumes one of two things. 1) Europe is in fact one whole country. OR 2) The United States is all of North America.

I think he meant "play with a member of the band Europe" and...uh... "play with a member of the band The Presidents of the United States of America"

Yep, that's it.

I'm not familiar with the 360's online achievement thingo's, but does it have normal things like '5 star every song on expert for guitar' or 'unlock every bonus song' or '100% every song on hard for drums'?

Or are they all crazy go nuts?

Umm...what part of the phrase "Play with someone from Europe" assumes Europe is a country?

The original poster of that was comparing a country to a continent. It would make sense for an achievement to say Play With Someone from Europe, or Play With Someone from North America. That would be fine. Or say...if you want to be limiting in said achievement you could replace the continents with (as he suggested) just the United States and...lets say...Germany.

But saying Country <--> Continent? Thats just...absurd.

PS. Its kinda scary you questioned my comment about him assuming Europe is a country, and not the US as a continent.

I'd like to see some achievements that are for people that play the game a lot. Something like finish 1,000 songs or play for xxx hours.. Something that will take two or three months of play to get..

Like someone mentioned before, sorry do not remember the/your name, Viewing the credits, lefty flip on easy were pointless.. Throw in a few easier ones, but make them 1-5 points.

As long I can earn all the achievements with one instrument (the guitar, in my case) I'll be happy. I'd to have to spend out to get the others (or just to know that I can't earn the achievements because I won't buy the instruments.)

Peter Moore achievement needs to be in there as a secret achievement.

I don't like achievements to be too difficult but instead should be something that takes a little bit of work through just playing the game a whole bunch and trying everything it has to offer
