Lost my game data -- Band name in use?

I was playing Rock Band and my game froze at the song list screen. It would not turn off when I held the power button for 5 seconds so I flipped the power switch in the back. When I reset my PS3, it said my hard drive was corrupted, and I had to reformat it in order to fix it, but anyway, here's my problem.

I recreated my band using the same name, and the server tells me that the band name is already in use on the leaderboard, and that I will not be able to use my band name for online leader boards. I'm nowhere near decent and the leaderboard doesn't matter to me, it's just that the message is annoying. Is there anyway I can delete my old bands off the leader boards? I didn't write down the old website code (and in fact I still have no clue what the website code does, I just thought I'd throw that in there)

You can't delete the band off the boards. You'll have to create a new band with a new name.
