So... why don't you wanna mess with the Gallagher brothers and why are they so lame?

Just wondering.

No motive was given as to why the man attacked Noel Gallagher but it’s safe to assume the assailant is a fan of either Jay-Z, Radiohead, Damon Albarn or whoever else Oasis happens to be sparring with this week.

Haha... That's nice.

I'm glad they came back out to play, would have sucked for the rest of the fans if they didn't finish their set. Note, this is a sign of them NOT being lame ;)

Also, my sister used to work in a clothing store in Vancouver and met both of the brothers seperately when they went in to do a little shopping. According to her they were both really cool, made fun of eachother AND.....they gave her 4 free tickets to the show, front row.

I'd say Oasis isn't lame.

I love their music, but Liam has a rep of being a *****. That might not always be the case, but he's been an ass to his own brother and other bands enough to deserve the rep.

Anyone who thinks it's cool that a fan jumped on staged and tried to start **** with the band is a childish fool. Was it cool with that happened during a Damageplan show a few years back? no, it wasn't.

i'm sure the oasis boys can be sweethearts when they want, but there's really no denying their eternal arrogance and bad attitudes...

i personally like it when people like that are taken down a notch or two.

Meh, you could pretty much say that anybody on this planet has a good side and a bad side.

Even if he did deserve it, he basically shoved the guy onto other fans. What about the fans dude? That's not cool. I don't want 160 or so pounds of Gallagher falling on me.

but when you're a big jerk celebrity guy, it's a swift push off the stage! :)

Ha ha..you got admit that guy is eternally wussy for cheapshotting him from behind though. A real man would have challenged Mr. Gallagher to a fight followed by a pint drinking contest.

And by the end of that they'd be hugging eachother like long lost brothers.

i like that idea, but i'd probably follow it up by following oasis to their next show and pushing him down there after i've gained his friendship and trust. :D

There are videos of this on youtube. Liam sticks the guy in the face then goes backstage to pummel him.

What a freaking cheap shot on Noel.
Liam had no time to react either the security was tackling the guy.

The Gallaghers' just speak their mind and answer the stupid questions people ask them, they don't go out of their way to say dumb things in the media.

Wow.

Noel Gallagher said that Jay-Z shouldn't headline Glastonbury Festival since it's traditionally guitar bands that headline it. Then it got way out of hand.

Attacking someone on stage when they aren't expecting it is just really stupid. Meet them in a bar or something after the show, but some people paid to watch Oasis play. They didn't even get to do an encore because of this, which sucks for those that were at the show.

they deserve it for making terrible music and being douchbags

People payed for that show. They shouldn't get it ruined because some jackass jumped onstage and attacked the guitarist.

Are the Gallagher brothers idiots? Yes. But that was just a downright cowardly move by that guy.

Awww, why hit Noel? He's the only one of the two brothers who actually has talent (not enough to match that massive ego of his, but oh well).

As much as I dislike Oasis (although it's more of a dislike for Liam, really... their music is simply extremely meh) and agree with Afterstasis that they deserve being taken down a notch, this is pretty much a cheap move by the guy, though. And indeed very sucky for the fans who had payed to see the band live.

As for Oasis respecting their fans... listen to the commentary track on their latest tour DVD (I had to watch it because of work...occupational hazard, I guess). The way they put down and laugh at their fans and just about everyone else in the whole universe who isn't part of Oasis really confirmed my dislike for them.

lol this is a ridiculous comment. They're English, they take the piss out of everyone and each other as does 90% of the people over there across the pond. My whole family over there is like that and just about everyone I've encountered in a pub there. It's all for a laugh man, of course they really respect their fans.

You have your opinion, I have mine. Considering we're both on different sides of a very tall fence, I doubt we're going to see eye to eye on this.

It's probably also a quaint English working class trait that the amount of stupid comments that the Gallagher brothers make goes up around the time when they're releasing a new album (not for publicity at all, of course... they just 'tell it like it is' *snort*).

If you haven't experienced it first hand or you can't see the humor in it I can't help you. Almost everything they say is intended to be funny to get a laugh. They could both be comedians. It's a dry, witty, sarcastic, smart ass, ragging on everybody kind of thing.

If it's not your bag it's not your bag.

Comedians are usually funny, though. ;)

The real shame, in my opinion, is that Oasis could actually a be quite a good band if they kicked Liam out. As much as I might make fun of him, I won't deny that Noel Gallagher is a talented musician and songwriter, and Definitely Maybe was actually a pretty decent debut album. It seems to me that Liam let his ego run amok after that, though, even though he's clearly the least talented member of the band (he's not that great a singer, and from the times I've seen them at festivals, he really had very little stage presence). Worst of all, he seems to be bring out his brother's bad side as well, which is a real shame. Noel is at his best when he's concentrating on his own music instead of bashing other bands or joining his brother in their self-aggrandizing rhetoric.

It's only my opinion, of course, but I think it's a real shame that a subpar frontman with a big mouth is holding the rest of the band back from achieving their true potential. Maybe it is all tongue-in-cheek in a way that clicks with a certain kind of people, but at the same time it antagonizes a lot of people who would otherwise be more willing to give them a shot. As it is, for me at least, the music doesn't stand out enough to compensate for all the posturing.

My dream is to become the lead singer of an Oasis cover band. Perhaps then, I will overshadow Liam Gallagher myself, and bring you rocking stage presence.

There's already a pretty good cover band called No Way Sis. I can't recall where I saw them, but I believe their singer was pretty cool (memories of festivals tend to be pretty blurry...only the very good and very bad bands stand out).

I agree. I actually like Noel's voice over Liam's. Alot less whiny and nasally in my opinion.

Also he doesn't have that pretty boy thing going on. He seems like a dude I could totally hang with drunk in a pub.

And then he'd use his awesome "humour" on me and I'd end up smashing my beer mug on his head or something.

lol I respect your opinion. If we all had the same opinion and all liked the same things life would be kind of boring. That's why there's so many different types of music, so everybody can find something they like.

Emo clicks with a certain type of people too but at the same time it antagonizes many more. It's like this with everything in life hahah

well he's an ******* but it sucks that he got seriously hurt- also I find the concept of someone in Toronto sneaking on stage to shove Noel quite funny (sorry I just do)

Thom Yorke has never been attacked during a concert- gee I guess they are a superior band Oasis- you lose.

Very true. Variety is the spice of life and all that. I guess I'm mostly more vocal about Oasis because they're so vocal themselves. What goes around, comes around, and so forth. And, in all fairness, I hope that Oasis is amongst the 20 free songs for RB2... they have plenty of fans in the RB community, ad the DLC has been generally well received, so I know it'd make a lot of people happy. I demand at least one more prog song amongst those songs to make up for it, though ;) :D

If you knew Burnage where they came from you'd know that you have to have attitude .They wouldnt of been half as successful if they didnt put some of that into their music
