So with the dlc being forward compatible that means we will be able to play the new Metallica album when gh wt comes out as a full band.
wonder if RB is going to get this album?

so if I buy the songs for GHIII it will add the drum track, vocals etc. when I get GHWT?

I hope RB doesn't get this terrible, terrible album.

How funny would it be if they had technical difficulties, since they have absolutely no experience with more than 3 tracks every month.

About as hilarious as the rush problems: not at all.

You wouldn't be saying that if they "sold their souls" to harmonix, I bet.

I've listened to the entire album and I like it. I like ALL Metallica except St. Anger and in my eyes, they've redeemed theirselves on this one.

I bet it will only be playable in GHWT in guitar and bass... no drums or vocals... at least I've read that the GHIII dlc would have forward compatibility with GHWT but only for the guitar (and Bass I think, not sure about the bass)
maybe they will patch it later but I doubt

this is the first ive heard of forward compatible dlc, plus wiht them charging almost 20 it would suck to only being limited to guitar and bass

I dunno, to me a lot of it sounds like they're trying too hard to be the old Metallica (i.e. the GOOD Metallica), but they just don't have it in them anymore.
Better than Load/St. Anger/all that other 90's crap? Sure.
Anywhere near as good anything up to and including Justice? I don't think so.
IMO, of course.

I think this is a nice move by Activision in terms of forward compatibilty. I'm not a Metallica fan so I'm not interested, but I like that they aren't trying to double anyone up.
I'm not a fan of the full-album only option, though. I can only imagine the freaking out that would happen if/when HMX offers such a thing.

And yet that also means it's better than a lot of the music out there today. (IMO)
I think people's expectations are too high. I bet if some new band nobody has ever heard of made these songs they'd get a lot more credit. But people expect more from a band like Metallica for some reason.

the cd is good, its not epic like Justice and Puppets, but its a good return to form, I just want to jam these songs in the RB gui and not GH, plust the 17.99 price tag is a little steep

If no game developers "stole" ideas, we'd have one IP for every genre of game. Like Soul Calibur? Too bad, it wasn't the first fighting game! Did you enjoy Chrono Trigger? Not the first RPG, too bad!
Everyone should keep "stealing", thanks.

I mean come on. HMX fanboys have been known to exaggerate things about Neversoft but making things up with no conformation is just ridiculous. Like Jeff said, you sound like a dumbass. The DLC will have drums and bass when they roll out GHWT, don't worry about it.

I disagree. Wait, ...And Justice For All came out TWENTY YEARS AGO? Whoa.

Honestly, I think it's better than any album that's already been released for RB (but not as good as Texas Flood, Peace Sells, or BSSM). However, I hate that they won't allow you to choose individual tracks. Hopefully Activision changes this with future DLC releases.

wait a minute... how are the songs going to transfer from a Guitar Rhythm Game to a Band Rhythm Game??
It's probably GH:WT DLC. If you play it on GH3 it'll obviously only give you the guitar track.
Play it on GH:WT and you get bass, drums and vocals as well.

Complete silence would be better than anything they've done in 20 years.
Alas, the new album is not silent.

The new album is pretty good...Its not the greatest album of all time or anything but its good.
The album will also give GH its first full band instrumental(I think) with "Suicide & redemption".

Gonna wait until World Tour, as I want vocals and drums, and I don't see it being possible in this download.
The wait's gonna kill me, though. :(
EDIT: UNLESS, it is World Tour DLC, like mentioned. I've got to wait and see.

I've heard some of the songs off of "Death Magnetic" and it isn't "terrible". It's just a "do-over".
I wouldn't want any of the songs in Rock Band (yet)! I like that we get a great track like "Battery" (and our DLC) in Rock Band 2.
Sure GH players get the new stuff, but we have the tried and true "classics".

Well my friend what can I tell you? To start I have to ask if you know me from anywhere? Are you my friend? have you come to my house? did we went to school together? So a little respect would be appreciated...
2º I'm no fan boy... I can tell has it is right now, I'm going to buy the GHWT bundle cause it's supposed to come out in Europe way sooner than the RB2 will, so I will buy the special bundle for the GHWT and import just the RB2 disc from the states for my PS3... but I guess I'm just a dumbass fanboy of harmonix!!!
