Kind of continued from RB forum, thought it would be better fitted here.

I circle scratched my RB 1 disk today. I was wondering if it is possible to get a replacement. On searching the warranty pages I came across this: http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=18481

Product Replacement:
If you meet one of the following criteria, you can send your product to Electronic Arts for a replacement product.

The product is 90 days past the purchase date
The product has been scratched, broken, or has been damaged in another fashion.
When sending us your product, be sure to include a check or money order for the amount shown in the replacement costs section made payable to Electronic Arts, as well as all of the information in the requested information section below.

Replacement Costs:

There is no charge involved with the replacement of broken or damaged software.

Does this mean I can send it in for a free replacement? It is beyond 90 days and it's scratched and won't load. What steps should I go through to get this going?

Rock > You < Hard place.

*Completely hypothetical*

If that were me, I'd think about the cheapest, easiest, least hassle route.
I'd try renting it from, oh I dunno, Blockbuster, or whatever rental place in the area, and simply replace the disc with your non-playable.

Or you could contact them and see if you meet the criteria. If so, mail it off and wait.
I'm not the patient type, so, see above option.

Stealing = bad.

And doesn't Blockbuster put a little security tag on the center of the disk? You would have to remove that and apply it to the crap disk, too. Seems like a lot to go through, to me.

Not to mention that you would ruin every future rental of that game while making unhappy customers and a bad image for a company.

How would you feel if you were the one renting a game or movie and, when you got home, it didn't work and you had to call and go back to the store to exchange it. What if they didn't even have a replacement for you? What if the other copy was already rented out? You'ld be stuck with nothing and very upset that the one game, you wanted to play, didn't work because some dill hole stole it and stuck YOU with their garbage.

Yeah. It would suck!

Go find a place that can rebuff CDs. Costs about 3 bucks and it'll then work like a charm.

Stealing = bad.

It's only wrong if you get caught.
Even then, I still deny any wrong doing.

I wouldn't feel anything.
I don't RENT games, I take care of my sh!t, let no one else borrow, etc.

See the phrase in my post where it says *Completely hypothetical* ?
Should be enough.

That might be something I could do if I was put in that situation.

Thank you, come again.
