OK, so i've seen how much individual songs cost and how much 3 song packs cost, but what about full albums? I'm interested in the Who's Next? album, as well as Nevermind.
Does anyone know how much those albums will cost? Also, is Nirvana-Nevermind confirmed to be a DLC album? i've seen it on some lists and not on others. Does anyone know when Nevermind will be released and for how much will the albums cost? THANKS A LOT ROCK ON!

The pricing for full albums hasn't been announced yet, nor have specific release dates. Nevermind has been semi-officially confirmed in that a Harmonix employee specifically mentioned something about it in a recent intervew, but no really official press release has been issued or anything like that.

and just my thought, the albums should not cost more then ten dollars..not anymore then itunes or any store would charge. I think 8-10 dollars is a fair price for albums.

There is no way that they will be less than $10 for an entire album. 3 songs is more than $5. An album usually is 15-ish songs.
I am sure the price of the album will depend on the number of songs, but it will probably be more like $15-20.

They won't be that cheap. Songs are individually $0.99 on iTunes, and they're $1.99 (average) for Rock Band. A lot of work goes into the note charts, licensing, lip synching, etc. Albums will probably be $15 on the lower end, and $25 on the higher end (speculation).

Well, it depends on how many songs are on the album. If it's 5, then yeah, $8 sounds good.
I think if they can manage to drop the price per song to about $1.50 on albums, that'd be pretty good. It's a bit more of a discount, but I think its deserved for buying a chunk of songs at once. If they could do it with packs, then can do even better on albums, because the packs are still generally 3 good songs, whereas with full albums, you would be taking some bad with the good.

Well, I guess this is my cliche response (feel free to flame away HeXcoda! :) ) but:
you're not paying for the song, you're paying for game content - it's totally different from how iTunes works. I'd guess the albums will be $15.

I'm guessing 15 as well. of course it probably depends on how many songs.
I'd also like to see length of album factored in... but that probably won't happen.

I think it will; at least when it comes to the number of songs in it. For example, I would think Sandinista! by The Clash (just as an example) would cost quite a bit more than Who's Next, purely due to the number of songs on the album.

The way I'm thinking it. You go into a store. A cd usually costs around 15ish. I'm just gonna say 15 average. Wally World usually has their edited crap for 12-13ish, FYE and the like has their for 17-18ish.
So if you take an album's costs from a store, that has nothing encoded on it whatsoever. Just the music. No individual tracks, synching and all that you're getting it for 15ish.
If you buy it from XBL/PSN you'll probably see it for 17-22ish. With all the tracks, synches, encodings and whatnot.
Which some might see as a bit unfair. Or others seem as reasonable. I like the ablum idea, but I don't see HMX using it alot. As noticed they're releasing 17 Dead Tracks, all from different albums. I think they might just use the album idea for those kinda albums that you have to own before you die... Or you'll be burned in hell for all eternity. Who's Next and Nevermind fit that category. Put both CD's on, you don't want to turn it off till the last track ends. All of its gold.
Anyway, thats my thoughts on the matter. Whether it be 13, 15, 20 or even 25. Who's Next and Nevermind are two great albums and should be cherised.

They will have to give a signficant discount on albums compared to single song purchases. The liklihood of many people buying the whole album at $2 per song strikes me as slim; I would just pick and choose the songs that I want a la carte instead of paying $2 for songs that don't thrill me. But, with a discount per song that makes it roughly $1.50 per song, it would be more tempting to buy the whole album. My guess is that Harmonix realizes this, so for a 10 song album, the $15 price point makes a lot of sense. That said, I am not sure that more songs equates to being worth paying more money, except in cases where the album is truly classic. So, just because an album has, say 20 songs, it doesn't follow that consumers would pay $25 for it. I wouldn't be suprised if they choose a fixed price point for albums regardless of the number of songs (say $18) to ensure a signficant buyrate for each whole album.

to the guy who thinks they still sell cd's at the cd store for more then ten dollars, your tripping. It's been a long time man all new cd's come out at $10 now. I understand theres the music charts but for the Who's Next album which is what 9 songs and pretty old...you can buy that cd for 5 bucks...so i'd say 8-10 dollars is good for an album. 10 dollars for nevermind...where are they selling nevermind for more then 10 dollars? I didn't factor in that they have to make the music charts, which isn't much hard work, but because of that i will expand the price range i would say $8-$12. Maybe for new albums such as some fall out boy or whatever else they could charge 15..but anything from the 90's or later should not be anymore then 10 dollars.
