Once, just once I wish that the companies involved in distribution would turn around and say, "Meh, go ahead and release them early. Our gift to you."

Then we could rawk all weekend.

It's a dream.

The bundles aren't out there yet. The games are, though. My GS has the games in the back right now. They said they weren't getting the bundles until the day of.

The bundles aren't out there yet.A lot of places already have them, as evidenced by the copies that slipped out early.

Bundles were at my Gamestop yesterday. Saw them with my own eyes.

It would probably piss off the retailers, for some reason I'm not sure that I entirely understand.

Some stores have them in stock, but some aren't going to be receiving their shipments until the day of the actual launch.

They need street dates in the interests of fairness... otherwise those who recieve them at the last minute would lose out on sales to those who received theirs early.

It's unrock, it sucks, it drives us all crazy, but there is a business reason for it.

At this point tons of retailers have made plans on how they want to release the game (midnight releases, online retailers probably have some kind of efficient plan for large releases, etc.) and suddenly saying "just go ahead and release them whenever" throws all of this into chaos as people start asking where their copy is.

The EB Games in Rockford has said that they're not going to do a midnight release because they're only getting enough to fill the pre-orders. In their words, "No use opening up at midnight and disappointing people who think we have extra."

So....Fill Muh Pre-Order!

I'm not a pretty sight when begging. It's very awkward.

I've been calling around the Seattle area trying to find stores with midnight openings, and so far, the only one is the Best Buy on the Eastside. =\

That's kinda disappointing. *lol*

Really? This is the same GS that released my Assassin's Creed a day late. I think I should go stage a coup.

Totally paid mine off today.

Yeah, I think I'll go do that just to be safe and if any GS employees get tied up in the process well, I can't be held accountable for that.
