Most likely, it'll be just me and my brother or me and myself. My question is, are you able to change from lets say...singing and drums to guitar and bass? Or are you stuck with the same two instruments you pick in the beginning for the rest of the tour?

The leader has to be the same but that's it.

Its this simple

You can play drums AND sing at the same time

OR you can play guitar AND sing at the same time

And who the hell wants to play bass at all?

If you want to switch the instruments between those 3 just pass it off to your brother

Problem solved... you won't be playing bass but who wants to play bass anyway? Bass is the redheaded step child of the stringed instrument world

Can you then switch from the two mentioned above to guitar and drumming, then?

Good question.

Me and my girlfriend will be playing this together. Other friends will be coming and going to fill in the other slots occasionally.

I'll obviously be the band leader since it's my apartment, my 360, my game. But say me and my girlfriend want to swap playing guitar and drums somewhere in the middle of the tour, and then mayble switch back later.

Will we be able to do this?

IIRC with different characters, yes. When you make a character you choose the instrument that character plays and they can't play anything else. However, your "leader" has to always be the same (or make multiple bands). So basically if you make your guitar character the band leader (which I hope you can do, that you don't have to use your frontman, makes no sense if you can't say have the guitar player or drummer as the leader and before anyone says there ws never a drummer as a band lead I point you to Phil Collins and Genesis) then when you play with that particular band you have to have that character in the band (and he will be relegated to guitar, or whatever instrument you created him for) while the other players can come and go as they please just by using different characters for the particular instrument they want to play.

I also heard that you can switch out all of the other band members, but you must definitely have to have the band leader (he can play whichever instrument you want, but once you choose he's stuck there).

I'm going to make my band leader the drummer, since someone'll always want to play drums. I don't really care about whether it's my character, or my wife's character, or what have you. We'll be too busy watching the note charts anyways, so we'll just have one character for each instrument, regardless of who's actually using the controller.

But, since the drummer will be the leader, we gotta keep that guy in. So with me and my wife, it's gotta be:

Drummer + Singer
Drummer + Guitar
Drummer + Bass

If we're playing Drummer + Guitar, and we want to trade, we'll just switch places. The game won't know we switched, and the characters will stay the same, though.

I think if we want to go from Drummer + Guitar to Drummer + Singer or something, we might have to exit BWT, then re-start it with the new combination. I don't think this means starting the BWT over again, though, since it'll probably save your progress and you can continue right where you left off.

Me, if you don't like bass. Go turn on GH2, go into practice, play "the light that blinds" and choose bass on expert. Not really challenging but really fun to play, so is Crazy On You and Higher Ground.

Yea, also the Bass track to John the Fisherman is real good too. Kinda challanging, but not really once you get the hang of it.
