OFFICIAL PETITION: Fix Tattoos!

Before I go into the main problem, I know from other players accounts that alot of images have been added and stuff. Thats cool

But we still can not add tattoos to our backs, neck, back of head, or legs. Also from reports we are still hampered by a layer limit when designing personal shapes/pictures as tattoos, band art, clothes, and insturments.

I propose a patch simular to the Music Store patch that does the following

1. [Increased Layer limit] With a greatly increased layer limit with the art maker you, with alot of patience, could create art of your character, clothes and insturments, just like people have done for vehicles in Forza 2

Linkage on some player custom car art here (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/2/189552/ShowThread.aspx) (CAUTION: Anime Nudes on cars may be shown, for some reason some people are just obsessed with Manga :/ )

2. The ability to add Tattoos to select areas such as the Neck, Back, Legs and back of head. Nothing that I hate more then a tattoo sleeve that looks ugly due to the cut off on the back and neck

3. A ingame auction just like in Forza 2 to share your art creations to be sold for ingame money (weither maker gets it or not) so hard working modders can share the creations they make and are proud of.

I like that idea, but with one change. I like to make different iconic figures, so for me i would like to be able to sell whole costumes.

There's no way they made those designs from preset stickers...
There is no way to upload your own pictures on forza 2. These artists are just amazing and have a lot of time on their hands. If you messed around with forza 2's paint/decal options for like an hour you would get how they do this stuff. Theres just so many possibilities to customize. But it's still insanely hard and time consuming.

I agree. HMX, please let us add tattoos to a character's back and legs. I don't mind the layers so much. I can be creative enough with what's there, but I'd really like to add tattoos to the back and legs.

the back and back of head thing is annoying, in RB i have made, spider-man, Captain America, iron man, Superman, and it is very ugly when the tatoos i use to do this are cut off and the backs are just skin, very ugly, and i dont see why you cannot at least just do a blanket color square to cover these areas to make them look like form fitting super-hero costumes instead of just skin.

I've been a part of the Forza painting community for close to a year now and while the editor and auction house are great, they open up a lot of problems. There are a shocking amount of nude and pornographic paintjobs on the auction house and no matter how many people report them and how many offenders get banned, they keep showing up. I wouldn't want to imagine what it's like for a young kid to come across some of this stuff.

And the economy of the game has also bred an unhealthy number of individuals who will scam, lie, and steal just to pick up some extra fake money.

So while a deeper art editor would be cool, I'd like the see the auction system stay away from Rock Band.

He's not just asking for some info on tattoos, he's asking for modifications to the game, before it's even officially released. I can't imagine why Harmonix isn't right on this thread reassuring him.

The 25-layer limit for tattoos is completely adequate, especially when you consider that 25-layer limit can result in the game loading and displaying 600 layers (possibly more if my math is off.) This isn't a racing game, it's a rhythm game, and the graphical expectations are a bit different.

I suspect they flatten it down to a single image/texture/whatever that they map onto the character during the game. Otherwise, it could get a bit insane. :)

The thing I'd like for the artwork is the ability to use it in more than one place, like the drums, a t-shirt, a guitar, etc., without having to recreate it. I may just be missing it, but I wasn't able to do that when I tried in RB1 a while back.

and as layer limit goes, Forza is about 4x harder to render and it doesnt take that long to load.

Hell they could incorporate a option that allows to you merge layers into a custom layer, that would free a couple kbs of data here and there to lessen the loading time

I think the reason they cant add any more layers is because, during gameplay, rendering these will be close to impossible if people go crazy on the tattoo front. COmbine that with 4 people and add ****loads of tattooes on every limb and clothing.

No, I don't believe they do, or at least during RB1 they didn't. During play with my characters who had 20+ layer artwork on guitars, certain layers would "flicker" while others didn't. That tells me that they weren't merged but rendered separately. That may have changed with RB2, I haven't got intensely enough into the art designing yet to tell.

Add me to the list here. I was hoping to have the ability to have full body tattoos. Granted it's a minor complaint, but I'd like to be able to paint my character all blue or all white. This would help compensate for the limited skin tone colors and give one the ability to create the illusion of a full body costume or mask (think superheroes folks). At least let us put in a simple "tramp stamp" on the lower back.

As for the merging of layers, something tells me the character creator would need a major overhaul to handle that...welcomed but probably not gonna happen (awright, I'm guessing the rest of my request is improbable too).

Seriously, most females I know that have tattoos have them on their shoulder blade, lower back, or ankle (at least the ones that show to the general public, lol).

I was really disappointed that we can't put tattoos in these areas.

I don't suppose this could be fixed with a downloadable patch? *sigh*

I strongly sign this petition. It completely boggled my mind that Harmonix put so much love and attention into the little details and upgrades in this title but completely dropped the ball on the tattoo system AGAIN.

Guys, do you have any idea how ridiculous it looks to have a heavily tatted out character with a completely bare back?
