The Jan. 29 tournament was a success, and we are planning another! March 28th is the tentative date. Check the Myspace for updates as soon as they are available, including a blog entry containing more detailed information.

Any suggestions from the last one or suggestions for this one would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you're still planning this, but I'd definitely be interested and I have a friend who would be too. We're students at ULL but we're from Baton Rouge and can come down anytime.

Hey, I'm at LSU! Maybe I'll be lucky and the rest of my guys will decide to do this tournament unlike the school sponsored one we had last month.

I wish I would have known about that. My friends run Tiger Uppercut and they didn't tell me, and I go to the thing they have at Pluckers and didn't hear about it there. I mainly want to get people together to play, but it seems people like tournaments better.

Oh, and anyone who has an idea on who to go to for Rock Band tournament sponsorship, please let me know about that also. Thanks.

I got a few questions:
Can you enter in multiple tournaments? Can I participate in the band tournament AND do the solo drums tournament?

Are we allowed to bring our own instruments? I have an Ion drumkit of my own and maybe I can bring it up for everyone to use as long as they don't abuse it too much. Namely the stock Ion pedal.

Also, there won't be any super, almost impossible songs (Like painkiller and panic attack) that's going to be in the list right? Because that's just downright brutal lol.

If you'd like to bring any instruments of your own, you're more than welcome. We're going to try to have a few extra guitars and mics in case anything breaks, and I have an extra stock drumkit.

However, if you are willing to bring your Ion kit, that would be AMAZING. If you'd like to get in touch with me, don't hesitate, and we can maybe work something out if you want to drive in the night before and not have to take it all down and set it back up the morning of the tournament.

We are looking into advertising this on the radio and in the newspaper, and if it turns out to be as big as some other tournaments in the area have been (64+ people), we'll need at least two Rock Band setups. So, if you'd be willing to bring a game disc with you as well, that'd be awesome.

Any help, really, is greatly appreciated.

To answer your other question, you may enter as many divisions as you want. As a matter of fact, I was thinking of providing a discount for entering all three divisions.

Secondly, the players will decide which songs are played. If you check myspace.com/rockbandbr, it explains the rules more clearly. Tell me what you think of the ruleset, and if you have any suggestions.

Cool, I'll let you know soon. The rules are good thus far but instead of taking the score the player has when he/she fails, why not use the "No Fail" option? I don't really see any harm on using that.

Could You Give us a list of dlc you have so we can know what to expect when we get there to pick songs

Bumping for tournament relevancy.

To DB, that's a great idea and we shall use it. Thank you!

To Toonces, you may have the list. I am turning on my Xbox now and typing it up. However, I was thinking, if we have too many people and have to have two Xboxes, we might just have the drum and guitar tournaments be on the one with the DLC and have the band tournaments be on the other Xbox. What do y'all think about that? Anyway here's the list.

Charlene, Runnin' Wild, Junkies For Fame, Still Alive, Headphones On, Face Down in the Dirt, Promised Land, Crushcrushcrush, Interstate Love Song, Real World, Mud on the Tires, Hey Baby, Baba o'Riley, Call Me, This Ain't a Scene..., Limelight, My Curse, I don't Care, Peace of Mind, Why Do You Love Me, Free and Easy, More Than a Feeling, Moving to Seattle, Hammerhead, Clouds over California, Move Along, Saints of Los angeles, Sorrow, Aesthetics of Hate, Inside the Fire, Shockwave, Indestructible, Perfect Insanity, Number of the Beast, Forever, Constant Motion, DOA, Sleepwalker, Laid to Rest, Excuse Me Mr., Blinded By Fear, Two Weeks, Are You Dead Yet

What's the policy on Breakneck speed? I'm not sure if I'm going to enter, but if I do I wouldn't mind bringing my Rock Band stuff; I have an original Strat, original drum set, and mic. I also have a lot of DLC (141, including the 24 free songs).

Gendercide6

Also, will there be any support for people that want to play mic/guitar at once? And what's the policy on switching instruments between bandmates?

DJRalph84

Any instruments you want to play at once is fine.

Also, if you would like to bring your Rock Band stuff, that would be WONDERFUL, but I don't know if we would need it. I am bringing two TVs, and could bring a third, but I am not exactly sure as to how many people are coming to this tournament. If you have all that equipment with you, we could easily get a third TV in case there are a ton of entrants. I would really appreciate it!

Finally, if all band members agree on it, breakneck speed is fine during the band tournament. During the Solo tournaments, breakneck speed can be used, since everyone will have to play by themselves.

Oh, right, thanks for reminding me, Gendercide, I have those 24 free songs as well. I was just typing in the songs from my Downloaded list and forgot about them.
