People put (10 characters) so they can post small things like "okay" because you have to type out 10 characters to post.

Put a bunch of spaces between words (if you have 2) and it shortens it to 1 space but it will still let you post.

I just use emotes since they count as additional space.

While the 10 char thing is annoying, it diffuses a lot of my pet peeves like +1, bump, etc.... I hate that.
