Best Buy has tons of Rock Band Bundles,

I went to Best Buy today to play none other than the Rock Band demo, and whilst there the doors to the back storage area were wide open. Right next to the door was a stock of Xbox 360 Rock Band Special edition bundles, these was a tower, a massive tower, 11 bundles high 2-3 wide, I couldn't even see how many were stacked next to it but on the opposite door, there were yet again a tower of Bundles.

I'm not to worried about a shortage anymore.

I am. If your not pre-ordering or going there at the midnight release, then you should be too. I pre-ordered, but I did it from Amazon, and I may not get mine until mid-December.

The Best Buy near where I live (luckily one that's opening at midnight) has 84 Xbox 360 Bundles. Not sure on PS3 bundles, but there are PLENTY for the 360.

Joking aside, yeah. If you go to a midnight release or have pre-ordered you have NOTHING! to worry about. Just ride it out and find something to do. It's like what... 3 more days? Actually 2 more days and a few hours?

Lol, but seriously, a month delay, a whole month, for packaging issues? If they hired me, I could've translated the packaging into french in pretty much a day, maybe two days, depending on how much there is to translate since there's a lot of peripherals.

Is anyone else tired of hearing people who have no idea what actually goes into releasing a video game talk about how easy it should have been for Harmonix to do this or that?

It is painfully obvious that it's not the french translation itself that caused the delay, but other factors associated with the fact that they have to produce an additional version of what is already very complicated packaging.

Yeah I can feel for you guys, My friend and I have been waiting to play this game for a long damn time. Mainly for the BWT online, but then that wasn't possible, then I hear Canada is getting a delay. Bad thing is, my friend is Canadian. I'm pretty pissed at the fact too, but I also realize that it's not HMX's fault, they just didn't have enough time to do everything they wanted to do. And as for the shipping problems... Well no company can help if there is an unexpected delay.

I wonder if the OP's store is one that is having a midnight release or not. That could affect the number that a given BB gets in stock.

I think I have the right amount of knowledge in knowing what goes into releasing a video game after doing an internship at a company for a summer.

It is the language issue and labelling the various peripherals, any sort of paper work, warranties, pamphlets, instruction booklets, boxes etc. which is why I said it would take me 2 days at the very least.

Before you assume that a person has no idea what they're talking about, get your facts straight.

I don't know why everyone is so angry about the bwt feature not being in the game for online play. According to them they forgot where I read it, but they do plan to implement it into the game as a download when it is done. At least we get the game for now.

hmm, i was at the best buy in Santee (east of san diego) and they did have the demo, but the guy working there said they were only expecting 10 bundles.

Well, this is good news. As one of the idiots who didn't preorder anywhere, I'm going to be playing "Rock Band Roulette" with a few different stores. The Fred Meyer down the street opens at 7, and the Best Buy opens shortly thereafter, so I'm hoping that one way or another I'll be able to snag one. ;)

Yeah well, Best Buy usually gets the biggest market share for video game consoles and games. Anytime a game or console is shipped, we will get the biggest shipment. When Halo 3 came out, we had 600+ copies. That's why I don't understand why people go to EBGames where they're less likely to get their game.

to the OP:where do you live? I may need to raid your Best Buy they apparently got all mine's shipments. I was just at mine yesterday picking up Assassin's Creed and asked an employee about and and apparently all they're getting in tuesday is the game itself and dont expect any bundles until black friday, even then they have now idea how many. Even had him check the computer too.

Needless to say my dreams of paying $85 bucks for Rock Band were crushed (yay rewardzone points!). I'm hoping to call the store Monday and get a completely different answer tho.

No one is angry about it? Just about everyone at the forums know (now anyway) that HMX -MIGHT- be working on a patch to fix BWT to play online.

At my Best Buy location, we are NOT getting the numbers stated in the thread - more like the minimum in the advertisement plus a few more, which sucks, because our market has very few gaming stores aside from us, 2 gamestops, and a few walmarts. Also, at my location, employees are barred from purchasing until sometime in december (this happened with the original 360 console release, and a few other things like that.)

I'll be trying a lesser-known local retailer for mine on launch day!

I don't work in media (department that handles gaming) and I probably know more than any of them about the game - when our demo was up (hardware totally crapped out, so it's now disconnected and moved to the back) I ended up fielding most of the questions about it - I should have kept my mouth shut so that maybe I could get one!
