for poops and giggles, was going through the xbox marketplace, saw the new metallica advertised for GH, and while checking it out, GH is keeping to their policy of packs only. thats right. can't buy a single, must spend 18ish dollars for the whole album (not that i would touch new metallica with a 85 foot pole)

reason 1,753 why rock band is superior:
being able to purchase individual tracks

No, it's at least reason #1,760.

why this album is potentially worth it?
because it will work with drums, mic on guitar hero world tour, and it weighs 1,400mb

I find this is where GH has always lacked in the DLC department, that and the lack of an extensive DLC category. Not that it affects me, I don't own GH3.

I was considering purchasing All Nightmare Long and My Apocalypse if I purchased GHWT, guess I won't be.

awesome to play but it does suck it for people who only want a single song. and OP it's far better than since anything after the black album

Actually, most account I've seen state that the solos aren't 'extended' as much as they are simply alternate. Just second hand info I was reading on ScoreHero.

I was actually leaning towards getting some of it until I saw they were forcing an entire album download. Another one bites the dust. I guess they figure they don't need to split up downloads since people blindly spend money on what they offer.

the issue isn't whether it is good or not, the issue is GH forcing people to buy All or None. for 3 packs, while still shady, is at least a semi-understandable way of milking cash. because people wont think much about an extra couple bucks. but to force entire albums. I had a feeling they would stick to these tactics and it saddens me.

If I actually bothered to play GH3, I'd have no problem buying the album, as it's not a terrible price for what's being offered, but still... removing the option is probably not going to make people particularly happy.

I don't care who's decision it was. It's a decision that keeps them(whoever they are)from getting any of my money. Oh well e.e

Death Magnetic as a whole album download is worth it. I downloaded the album for GH first and had so much fun with the songs, I bought the album from Amazon after. For anyone that plays GH, these songs are a must have. Plus, if you read any of the threads on Metallica's message board, you will find out that due to a mixing/mastering issue, the songs on GH3 sound much better than the CD.

The one thing I hate about Guitar Hero.
You want one song? You pay for 2 you won't touch.
And same goes for Death Magnetic.

Possible, but it's not like the track record hasn't been established earlier. We shall see if future albums for GHWT are like this as well. If so, it may help get artists on board, but a lot of people buying DLC won't be happy about it.
