As HMXChrisCanfield posted in his blog the other day, internet radio as we know it will no longer exist after July 15th, unless Congress acts to stop an insane licensing and royalty fee schedule that will go into effect retroactively to the beginning of 2006. This will effectively bankrupt most online radio stations.
Tomorrow, June 26th, many of the internet radio stations will go silent including Rhapsody, Pandora, Yahoo, and many more as a sign of protest, and to promote even more awareness of this issue. Hopefully, this will encourage thousands if not millions of people to flood Congresspeoples email, phone and faxes with letters and calls encouraging the passage of a bill to stop internet radio from dying.
