So... I was just wondering if anyone knew whether or not the GH Les Paul will be useable as one of the guitars for Rock Band...

Early speculation indicates "no" for the PS3, and "maybe/yes" for the 360. Although take these answers with a grain of salt until Tuesday.

i dont think that just because it didnt work for one person means it wont work for everyone after gaming sites said it will.

I think it was the first person who posted here who got an early copy posted photos of him and his buddies playing it and you could clearly see that someone was using the Les Paul as far as i remember, not sure which system he had it for, I'm assuming the 360.

EDIT: Just rechecked that thread, and it was the XBox 360 version, so I'd say that confirms that it works on the 360.

I can 100% confirm the 360 version works with the Les Paul. no issues or setup required. Of course there is no solo frets or effects toggle, but it works suitably for a lead, and perfectly for a bass. The buttons all work fine and the whammy bar/overdrive tilt work as expected.

You can use the solo buttons during the entire song.. but if you're not in the blue solo section you have to strum as you normally would.

I can confirm that it does NOT work for the PS3 version of Rock Band.
