View Full Version : Are we getting the "Full" experience from DLC?

Specifically, the crowd singing along during choruses and other parts. I know all the songs that come with the game are getting the full treatment, but what about the hundreds of DLC songs we are going to see? Are they all getting the same attention to detail?

My best guess says yes... otherwise no one will buy into the concept because of a perceived drop in quality.

Plus, if you use GH2 360 as a template, they had lighting effects and animations for their tracks.

the data you download isn't only the notes and music, all the other extra MBs are the light effects, and other things you need to make it a full experience in the game.

Anyone know how big (filesize) the downloads are going to be?

That's a good point. I forgot that another thing I'd like to know if DLC will have is all the intricate guitar animations and such, like the guitar players holding their fingers in realistic positions on the fretboard. I really do hope we get the same attention to detail that we've been told to expect in the retail set list.

Yes. DLC for Rock Band will be just like the songs that come on the CD.

Source? Because I've been looking around on this too and haven't found anything official.

I think it was in the 5 page interview with Rigopolus.

what's official is that the way a song becomes "playable" whether on the game disc or not is

1. Harmonix has to seperate it into it's different tracks.
2. They have to create the notechart for all levels.
3. They have to do the lip-synching.
4. they have to add in effects for lighting, the animations, etc, etc, etc.

alot of work goes into just one song.

That is actually a very good and important question, because I have limited space on my 360 and I don't want to hhave to buy 30 mem cards to store all my excess songs.

Yeah, when you think about all the work they have to do. Create a vocal, guitar, bass, and drum track. Crowd, lip syncing, and lighting effects. Adding to BWT setlist. etc. etc. etc.

Lots of developing to be done in a song, let alone album.

...or just buy a harddrive.
