Hi guys!
very active forum, I can see, and I know there are many threads about mics not working, but I haven't managed to find an answer for my issue.
I have an 80Gb PS3 (latest system updated) and Rockband with the peripherals that came with the game. When I hook everything up EITHER the mic will work, OR the guitar, but not both.
I have tried a large number of combinations of ports used, hibs used and so on without success.
I know the peripherals all work because I borrowed a PS2 and that worked fine.
PLEASE can you help? The family are going a bit stir crazy with this not working!!!
Many thanks in anticipation!
J.

Do you have a six-axis connected to control the vocalist? Does it tell you that you need to connect a mic, or what is the message?

I have a normal controller attached aswell... when I hit 'X' on the controller in the multiplayer selection of players it reports that no mic is attached/detected:mad:

I have a similar problem, except that my microphone has been working for the past week or so.

Have you considered trying a powered USB hub? I know the 80 GB has 4 ports, I have one, but can't think of another reason you'd get this behaviour.

A typical problem here is having too many devices online. Rockband will only detect and use the controllers numbered 1-4, so make sure you haven't set some other controller in between. Plug in guitar, and have it working, then check the mic. They should both work. Hold PS button and go to controller settings to ensure they're both set up as 1-4. We use this often to swap what sides of the screen a controller is on to match the side the player is on.

Interesting, I've not noticed this before. I'll give it a test tonight and see what I come up with.
