Okay, so we know that double-bass drumming is not going to be a barrier to songs being included in RB (a good thing in my opinion, even if it might feel a little weird to be doing only half the footwork)... but I was wondering, what about instrumental pieces? If there are going to be any in future DLC packages, does that mean the singer takes five, or will he simply have a really easy time scoring 100% on said song? :D

One of the reasons I'm wonderin' about this is the latest DLC package announcement. For example, we've got a total of 4 Metallica tracks (3 of which are DLC), "Enter Sandman" off the Black Album, "Blackened" and the title track off ..And Justice For All and "Ride The Lightning" off, well, Ride the Lightning. And according to the song list page on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band), Harmonix are going to include an as-yet-unnamed Metallica album in full. So that got me thinking..

Notice that out all of the songs picked so far, none of them are from Master of Puppets, arguably their best album, and no doubt the most obvious choice, seeing as how it remains untouched by DLC distribution. But as y'all probably know, that album has an instrumental on it ("Orion"), which might be a problem. Your thoughts?

No problem at all. A song on Nevermind doesn't even have drums, and they're putting Nevermind up for DLC after Who's Next, so I'm sure they don't have a problem with it. If they can exclude drummers, what's the problem with excluding singers?

I think it was stated somewhere that instrument-specific DLC would be released, which raises the amount of songs by a large number. If they would do that, I see no reason why instrumentals wouldn't be included.

5 Metallica songs. Don't forget One from ... And Justice For All.

Instrumentals should be included. No doubt.

I really wanted to ask about that on my trip, but forgot to.

IMHO there's such good things they could do with 3 instrumentals.

Maybe they will save them all up and do an expansion disc: Rock Band: Jam Session, which would be a full expansion of kick ass instrumental tracks.

There's really no reason they can't do instrumentals for DLC, as long as they let people know up-front that the song is an instrumental. Some won't like that, but it's DLC, so they aren't required to buy it.

Now instrumentals on the disc, that would be a problem, and people would have every right to be pissed off about that. But I really can't see anyone reasonable becoming upset with DLC instrumentals.

Yeah they already said they were going to do more guitar-oriented things so why not other things like drums or purely instrumental?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone confuse Rock Band with GH3 when they said "One" would be in RB? (Or did Harmonix release an official statement?)

Anyway, thanks for all the answers. I'm guessing it won't be a problem after all. :D
