I havnt even had the game for more than an hour, and so far it has locked up multiple times in random areas. Most commonly when trying to start a solo tour, once you select your band member, the Continue Tour screen comes up, and then locks up there. Have checked and it is not the 360 locking up. Just RB2.

Anybody else have this issue or is it just me?

Prepare to send your console back...you're about to get the Red Ring of Death, my friend.

Even if it is just this lone game locking up? Bah... Thanks for the grim news =\Unfortunately, yes. It sometimes will just happen with one game, and then all of your games will do it. Why don't you return the game/exchange it for a new one and see if it still does it. If it does not, it might have just been the disk. If it continues to lock up, I'd say your console is about to die.

I am pretty sure it isn't the disk. I had the firdt Rock Band for nearly a year before me Xbox died. It is the console....

Have to wait till tomorrow to test on a friends Xbox. But no issues with any other game. Including Rock Band 1. Always in the same spot on RB2 now. Right after you select your band member, when it asks you to continue tour, shop, and what not.

That is weird. I had a system that was produced in Mar 06--oe of the early models. I got the RROD this past Jun 08.

It happened with RB1, but it happened just as the previous threader explained. First you get the RR a couple of times and the unit freezes. After a day or two of this I got the RROD.

Pissed me off, but the warrenty covered it. I should be getting the system back this week.

It's not the XBOX360 -I have now tried it on three 360's - one OLD non HDMI version, one Halo 3 Ed and a 1 month old 360. All do the same thing -- from time to time you get the "LOADING" scrreen and it goes out to LUNCH.

I'm sure they will have to patch it just like they did for a few other titles of LATE -==- As more people get this I bet we will see MORE of this 'LOAD-to DEATH" issue......

Note - XBOX360 -is not locking up - you can still go back to XBOX main but the Game just Locks up.

I get the same thing on two other systems. So it isn't the Xbox bricking. I think I narrowed it down on my system that if I start a game with the guitar, it locks up. But when I don't, it works fine. Now that I can finally play, some of the songs are skipping randomly now.....

Mine is doing this as well. I got the RRoD once after leaving my system sitting for a while after it froze, but I can't recreate the problem. It keeps freezing, I just can't recreate the RRoD. I called and have a shipping label on the way in my email to send the system in, but it's outside of the 1-year regular warranty. I know it will be covered under the 3-year RRoD warranty but I'm worried that if they can't recreate the problem I'll be charged for the repair, whatever it may be.

I am having what sounds like a similar problem.
I have had my X-box for just over a year (i think) and there have been occasional problems in the past (specifcially with GTA). Now the X-box locks up in random points with RB2. If I clear the memory for audio/video etc then it will allow me to get a little further. I have actually made it to the point of being able to play a song, but then it dies in the middle. It dies in various ways currently.
1.) locks up on loading - screen freezes. - cannot get to dashboard but intruments stay connected
2.) locks up on start up - screen freezes.- cannot get to dashboard xx
3.) screen goes black and intruments drop connectivity as if their is nothing connect to the television.
4.) black and white lines appeared on the screen (this happened only once).

I have never seen the RROD yet, but If I can get it to happen then I am more than willing to send this systme back at this point...

THe only thing that concerns me is the idea that it MIGHT be the disk... since Rockband one still plays just fine.. no issues.
Other games are fine so far.

I am going to leave the X-box on over night and see what happens.

anyone have any other ideas?

I am having the following problem...

- RB2 doesn't load preloaded songs & new LIVE downloads... gets to LOADING screen and doesn't ever load.
To be clear...

- RB1 works fine
- RB TrackPack Vol.2 works fine
- All downloaded songs prior to 11/08 work on RB1 & RB2
- Again, all new songs that have been downloaded don't work.

I originally thought the disk was bad so I returned it for another new disc... then I contacted EA and they had me try the game on another XBOX 360 and it worked OK.... then I contacted Microsoft and they sent me a form letter that talked me through a memory clearing process and I also tried the game without the hard drive, wireless or anything other than the mike and the controller.... The game still did the same BS.

This is also our second (after 4 repair attempts) XBOX 360 and the MF date on the replacement XBOX is 07/2007.

My feeling is that this is some form of incompatability that has occured due to a change in the format of the songs... this is the only conclusion I could come up with due to the fact that both RB1, RBTP2, and downloaded songs all work fine... it is only the NEWER songs that fail to load.

I believe what is needed is some form of update or patch and Microsoft and/or EA don't want to acknowledge this fact.

I will continue to pursue a solution and hopefully have a conclusion to post... I will check back to see if anyone else is having the similar problem or if they have a fix!

Thanks!
