Flyleaf is the sound equivalent of The Holocaust.
Those other bands suck too.

Why do people keep posting this crap. Nobody wants to hear or download that crap. It would not be in Harmonix best interest to put any kind of work into music that a majority of people don't give a crap about.

This is ridiculous. I'm a huge country music fan, but you don't see me inundating these boards with stupid requests for music that doesn't fit the genre of the game do you...NO...why? Because this is ROCK BAND...not CHRISTIAN BAND or COUNTRY BAND....STFU already.

I disagree with this blanket statement. I would love to play some blues or some other genre other then "rock". In fact there is a qute from someone at HMX that DLC wouldn't all be strictly rock but other types of music that might be fun to play such as funk, blues etc.
I do not care if Christian music, Buddhists chants or yodeling made it on as DLC. I wouldn't buy it but maybe someone else might like it. It might even find a few new listeners that might have never been exposed to a certain sound.
We can also have a civil, polite discourse and disagreement without telling someone to STFU can't we?

Third Day? No thanks. First, let me put my position in. Religion is crutch. Beleif that some omnipresence is watching over everybody is foolish and about as believable as the moon being made of green cheese.
Second, there isn't a large enough audience for it in this game. However, if Harmonix decides to make it, well so be it, but I highly doubt it.
Again, this is rock band. Jazz, blues, and even country have their roots into rock and vice versa, so I can understand if those genres makes it to DLC. Christian rock is a sorry excuse for music (I put in the same category as Rap. Rap is entertainment...not music). I've heard Christian rock, and it sucks. Let it go.

some christian rock does suck, but go listen to comatose or the older i get, even whispers in the dark by skillet the come back to me. It is good music, just cuz one band you find is bad in christian music, dont hate on all of them. If yo u dont like one badn of punk rock, are you going to hate on all punk rock bands?

Funny, most of you are saying christian bands suck and you don't even give it a chance. I'll come out and say it right now, I don't believe in god and that's my choice. However all my family members are really into church and such. They go every sunday and wednesday to church. I hated on the music for awhile but then my system gave me some CDs and let me tell you, it's not always about god and it doesn't always sound whiney. They actually have some good bands and I think it'd be a great addition to Rock Band. And yeah country music would be nice too.
If it's DLC, you don't HAVE to buy it. So really, just calm down and let the people who do like it enjoy it.

i like several of the bands that have been mentioned, mainly just from hearing them on the radio, or seeing them open for bands like sevendust and deftones, and not even knowing they were christian rock. the way i see it is that bands like pillar, thousand foot krutch, project 86 and skillet are just like any other bands out there. as a fan of loud rock music i don't see a big difference in them from a lot of the other bands i listen too.

ok? lets get back to posting worth while threads instead of wasting precious space with such pointless nonsense.
how about some hip hop? maybe eligh? or aesop rock? how bout some prozack turner? turn the drum set into turntables? slab on a keyboard, update the software and see who can keep up with the twists and turns in rhyming. or we can use the tools given by harmonix for any possible, enjoyable music. different strokes for different folks. no one will make you buy the songs you dont want.

Apparently Harmonix disagrees (by putting POD in their older stuff and Flyleaf in RB)
Music is music people why don't you actually pay attention to the request of the moderators and not slam people for their music choices??
Sheesh most of these bands you all wouldn't know they were Christian unless someone told you---especially Skillet (who often plays secular shows and has opened for many bands you are requesting DLC for), Thousand Foot Krutch (who has a song used as a theme for Smallville) and RED (who had a song used as a theme on some show on ABC)--it isn't like it is candy coated dumb music that is just 'Praise Jesus' over and over again----yes, you can be a Jesus Freak and an artist at the same time.

Ok, fine...I concede. I just REALLY HATE religion in all forms, and it pushes my buttons. I apologize in advance if I offend anybody for what I'm about to say, but it's my opinion, and I'm not ashamed of it. Religion is for the weak in my mind. I just view it as a cop-out for those too weak willed to fix their own problems or can't cope with real life. That's rough, but that's life.
Good luck getting your DLC and I'll leave the threads alone.

Funny part is I am a Jesus Freak who agrees with you for the most part.
I believe in God, and Jesus is my savior, but I REFUSE to go to church and refuse to listen to most 'Christian' music (cept like Skillet where it isn't ultra overt)
If you look at what Jesus said and how people in religion actually behave, there is severe discrepancies--thus why I don't go to church and sometimes refer to myself as a Jesus Freak rather than a Christian
Takes a lot of cajones to apologize--props dude!!!!!

Hmm never heard of 'em
Yeah a lot of Christian bands are carbon copies of secular bands, which is why I don't listen to most of them
Skillet, Decyfer Down, RED, Thousand Foot Krutch and Safe Haven though are pretty original--and really will probably have more success secularly than on Christian markets anyways---I really hope Safe Haven's Lost Letter gets in RB--it is a really good punk rock song--and I am not even normally into punk!

Stryper would be good.... Petra (specifically Judas Kiss, but a lot of their other stuff, too.), Jars of Clay would both rock. (Yeah, I'm a little biased on JoC, but their music is awesome regardless :p )

i want christian music.
i think that would be pretty sweet if Harmonix started putting out different genres for selected groups. Christian Music, Death Metal, Southern Hardcore, Southern Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical Rock, CHRISTIAN DEATH METAL! (impending doom)
Theres nothing wrong with a wide selection of genres.
If you dont want Christian music than don't download it.
But don't put somebody else down because they want something.
I'm sure you probably want something on Rock Band someone else wouldn't want.

Listen just because you dont like christian music doesn't mean their arent people that do!!
First of all its a choice to be a christian and to listen to music that is based on a christian background is even better!. I would pay ten times to have sumthing that is christian to be downloadable!. AND IT ISN"T CRAP. GOSH!! Honestly so many people listen to underoath and DUR!!!!!!! Their a CHRISTIAN BAND!!!.... HASTE THE DAY CHRISTIAN!!! Just because its christian doesnt mean its gunna be all "Jesus Christ I will praise you". But hey if its christian rock, rap, country, merenge, salsa, regeton, indy, emo, or techno it makes no difference. Its just a style of music it doesn't mean that it sucks. So what if the guys from Metalica were christian would you sudenly say they suck!? If Ozzy Ozbourn became christian would you sudenly stop liking him. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!!!? NONE!!!! So be quiet!! and BACK OFF!!!!.
And Harmonix's Please work with the major christian labels and bring some more CHristian Music to Rock Band. If it's Money look at it from this angle more parents will be inclined to buy their kids music that has a positive message. I'm not saying that some of the music you picked for the setlist didn't do that.
Tooth and Nail Records
Solid State
And FaceDown Records are some of the labels that sign Christian artist I'm pretty sure you will be surprised at how their music isn't what you expected.

Let me start off by saying I'm the furthest thing from religious. However, I think there are many great bands out there that happen to be "christian bands". Most people prolly wouldn't know it by listening anyway. I think it would be great to have the choice to download this stuff. DLC is all about choice right!? Here are my suggestions:
Underoath
Haste the Day
Norma Jean
Destroy the Runner
The Almost
He is Legend
Bluvox

I'd love to see some Petra or Jars of Clay in the DLC lineup. Six Pence None the Richer wouldn't be bad, either.

They could put christian bands and just not say anything about religion
Paramore
Underoath
As I lay dying
Flyleaf
The almost
Maylene and the sons of disaster
Haste the day
They are all great and none of them make "Preachy" music... its only preachy if you take it that way .... Ok I'll admit As I lay dyings lyrics at times are obviously religious related but you can't tell what Tim Lambesis is screaming into the mic anyway right? :P lol

Intestines exposed
By violent thrusts
The innards removes
Dissecting the guts
To rip through the skin
Tissue and muscle
Cartilage shreading
Draining blood vessels
Frenzied hacking
Morals lacking
Eviscerate
Life is gone before my eyes
Flesh matters the most
When splattered around
Its never morose
Absurdly profouned
Fresh insides come out
Excitedly done
My purpose in life
To kill just for fun
Frenzied hacking
Morals lacking
Eviscerate
Life is gone before my eyes
Frantic disembowelment
Deprived of vital content
Organ loss without consent
Spastic slicing an event
Sharpend steel my covenant
Frantic disembowelment
Mutilating miscreant
Sickening accomplishment
Spreading gore is ime worth spent
Perpetuate this mad intent
Eternally malevolent
Frantic disembowelment
Kidneys exposed
The pancreas flew
Stomach deleted
The spleen I did chew
The carving is over
You lost and I won
Fulfilling my dream
I killed you for fun
Frenzied hacking
Morals lacking
Eviscerate
Life is gone before my eyes
Frantic disembowelment

There are tons of great Christian Rock Bands out there, and people should have the option to pay to add these songs, just like we can add other bands. For the foolish blanket statements, attacking the idea of being open minded, with more great music, you can play GH.

OK... interesting question for all you loving posters in this topic...
What qualifies a band as a Christian Band? Is it that they focus their music around God/Jesus/Christianity, or is it that they members themselves are Christian...?
The Fulcrum of the Discussion:
"Some of the most well-known groups in heavy metal music have dealt with Christian themes in their songs. Black Sabbath, sometimes referred as the first heavy metal band, wrote the song ”After Forever” (from Master of Reality, 1971), which talks about life after death from Christian point of view. Iron Maiden, whos drummer Nicko McBrain is a Christian, has portrayed God in positive light on its recent song "For the Greater Good of God". James Hetfield of Metallica was raised in a Christian home and reflects this background on songs like "The Four Horsemen" (from Kill 'Em All, 1983) and "Creeping Death" (from Ride the Lightning, 1984) which make references to the Bible scriptures of Revelations and Exodus. Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci is a practicing Catholic and the lyrics on songs such as "Scarred" and ”Lines in the Sand” are reflective of that. John Myung and James Labrie have also claimed to hold Christian beliefs. Blind Guardian's vocalist Hansi Kürsch, who has said in an interview that he's a faithful but very critical Christian, has incorporated Christian themes on songs such as ”Precious Jerusalem”, ”Another Holy War” and ”Sadly Sings Destiny”. Alice Cooper (Vincent Furnier) became a Christian in the 1980s but he avoided becoming a "celebrity Christian" for a long time, until his interview with HM Magazine about his faith was noted world wide. Cooper has kept his trademark shock rock image but has also written some Christian references on the album Brutal Planet. Megadeth's former bassist David Ellefson is a Christian, and frontman Dave Mustaine became a Christian in 2002 which was during the time when Mustaine was recovering from his wrist injury. Megadeth's 2004 album The System Has Failed contains Christian lyrics and Bible references on songs such as "Shadow Of Deth" and "My Kingdom Come"."

In terms of this discussion, and the requests for "Christian music for RB DLC", I think it's mainly how the band identifies themselves. I love me some Metallica, and there are some of their lyrics that I appreciate more than others, but if you ask them what genre they are, I seriously doubt they're gonna say "Christian Metal" no matter which song you're talking about. I know some people are extremely anti-label, so picking a specific genre for a specific group isn't going to sit well, and that's cool, too. :p I don't recognize all the Christian bands that have been listed in the discussions here, but the ones that I've suggested personally (Jars of Clay and Petra, specifically) identify themselves as Christian groups, even though they aren't singing Kum Ba Yah all the time ;)

Why do people keep posting this crap. Nobody wants to hear or download that crap. It would not be in Harmonix best interest to put any kind of work into music that a majority of people don't give a crap about.
I would just like to make the more than obvious observation that should have been made by Jixzer when he wrote this. If people keep posting this, that probably means somebody DOES want to play these in Rock Band. Not only are people posting this, but if you actually looked at the posts inside this thread you would see that not everyone is bashing it and some agree that they would like to see it in the game, as well as me. I like a lot of styles but would agree that if this were put in the game there would be people who would download it, I guarantee it. A lot of people don't even realize how many Christian bands they hear on the radio that they like but don't realize its Christian. If you want to listen to something, post it, but don't tell people that there stuff is crap and not worth putting on the game because the only opinion that will matter in the end is Harmonix's, not yours. So don't waste your breathe and let the developers do their job.
By the way, I've had many of my friends (not Christian) who listen to other types of rock and liked Christian bands without knowing it and after I told them they were Christian they either would stop listening to it or bad mouth it after they had previously told me they were cool or really good. So don't be so judgmental on something that is based on opinion (like listing your own personal set list).

You guys don't have to flame Religions. I mean it's bad enough already you don't believe in it.
At least Christians have soemthing to look forward to after death. Plus there are plentiful good songs that Christian artist have created. When God comes you all will take back what you say, but by then it will be all to little to late.

I'm a fan of all kinds of music, not just the stuff that's currently on Rock Band and I agree, there are some amazing songs that would be good for some of the Christians who play the game.
The Christian music industry is the fastest growing genre of music in the country, and has been for several years. Every year dozens of new labels are popping up and more and more bands are being played on mainstream radio. So to say Christian music is lame because it's Christian is a blanket statement bordering on ignorance. And there are lots of Christian music fans--and not just Christians. It would a market completely untapped by any of the music game makers and I think the market would totally eat it up.
That being said, there are some bands that are better than others (just like in the non-Christian market). I think some of the bands that would be great for Rock Band:
Skillet - their new stuff would be so much fun to play.
THousand Foot Krutch
Disciple
Underoath
Stavesacre
and some old school Christian metal:
Stryper (these guys used to be on EVERY heavy metal magazine back in the day)
Impelliteri
Narnia
Saviour Machine (gothic rock)
If you don't think these guys are talented, then get out of your fantasy Rock Band world and start listening. I've seen many of these guys perform and believe me: they are rockers!

Don't put it in because it's christian, put it in because it's good. We shouldn't be giving religion special treatment, and you christians really need to stop acting so persecuted when we aren't accepting the bull that you're shoving down our throats. When we don't like your music it isn't because we hate your religion it's because your music is horrible, and having horrible music doesn't qualify you as 'persecuted.'

HOW CAN YOU ALL JUST SAY NO??? a lot of you listen to alternative rock stations. you hear those kinds of stations play christian rock and you dont have a clue. you just jam on and say "thats a cool song." they are still good songs, but you put anything involving christianity on there and all of the sudden its a hate fest for no reason? cmon. i thought people had better common sense than that. i pray for you all. haha. the funny thing is, GOD INVENTED ROCK BAND!!! Apparently Harmonix disagrees (by putting POD in their older stuff and Flyleaf in RB)
Music is music people why don't you actually pay attention to the request of the moderators and not slam people for their music choices??
Sheesh most of these bands you all wouldn't know they were Christian unless someone told you---especially Skillet (who often plays secular shows and has opened for many bands you are requesting DLC for), Thousand Foot Krutch (who has a song used as a theme for Smallville) and RED (who had a song used as a theme on some show on ABC)--it isn't like it is candy coated dumb music that is just 'Praise Jesus' over and over again----yes, you can be a Jesus Freak and an artist at the same time.
btw... a-stinkin-men!

I'm truly disappointed that this thread turned into a bunch of trashing. People want to talk about music. Music is music is music. Period. If something kicks ass, we want it in our game. Of course, there is a ton of kick ass music out there, so we can't please everybody.
What it comes down to is good music. Please rethink all of this negativity, it doesn't do anybody in this thread any good, and it doesn't do *good music* justice.
