I've only heard good things about Harmonix's earlier works, so I have been thinking of getting them. The only thing is the track list looks lackluster IMO (I'm only into rock and 60's 70's and 90's to be exact). So is Amplitude and Frequency worth getting if you aren't into pop techno hip hop crap.

Frequency and Amplitude are geared more towards the techno type, with a few rock songs there and there. Both games are highly awesome though! I seriously recommend picking them up. Great memories of both of those games.

Im into techno so thats why I liked them. Just give both games a chance to see if you like them. Im sure you will. None of my friends really like techno that much but they loved Frequency and Amplitude.

I liked Amplitude a lot more than I liked Frequency...just that the interface is a lot smoother I think. But in terms of if you'd enjoy it...I am the furthest there is from a techno/dance type music fan there is...and I still play Amplitude to this day. Very very addictive game. :D

I thought FreQuency was better because the music was sooooo good and it was underground. When Amplitude came out and it was mostly mainstream stuff it kindof runied it for me. Sortof like how the DDR arcades own the US trash releases.

If either, I'd get Amplitude if I were you. Frequency is just.. old, for lack of a better word. Amplitude is much easier to find (but still pretty hard at that). I've never actually played Frequency (aside from a demo), so I can't tell you much on the setlist, but the setlist for Amplitude is pretty good if you like techno/pop-esk music.
