First, what an awesome follow up to RB1. The set list is amazing, and almost everything we *****ed about in version 1 has been fixed!
But after playing with it for a few hours, I do have a few questions
1) I play on expert, and have started a band to go through the solo tour. My wife also likes to play, but s more casual. She wanted to play with me, and did. so there are some songs in certain venues that I've played alone, and is marked as beaten on Expert. But there are other songs where we played together, and it's marked as Medium. Now that she's played under my band using medium, does it mean I can no longer beat this game under Expert, using the current band, because some songs were played with her using Medium? Note, usually she would play Guitar on Medium and I'd play bass on Expert, if we do play together.
2) How does No fail mode work? I enabled it under the Extras menu, but I still seem able to fail out in Quick play mode. Note that I haven't beaten this game at any level yet (damn day time job and family responsibilities). Maybe that has an impact?
3) What exactly is performance mode? Is that the so called Jukebox Mode?
Thanks in advance for any help.

1) I think you can replay the stuff that you and your wife did by yourself on Expert and get credit for beating it on Expert, just like in BWT on RB1.
2) I don't know, but it sounds like you aren't enabling No Fail Mode correctly.
3) Performance Mode (if I'm not confusing it with something else) is where you play the song without any charting showing up. In other words, you have to play the song by memory.

Hmm.. what do i have to do to enable No Fail Mode? I just made sure it was checked in the Extras menu. Is there some additional secret handshake i need to do?

No. The crowd meter is still there, but when it reaches the bottom you do not fail out. You will still be booed, but will not fail.
