"Sorry, but you're unable to play battle of the bands at the moment..."

I started a solo tour, Im playing guitar. Every single time I try to connect to a battle of the bands, I get this message. It states the reasons for which I may not be able to connect are:

Make sure my band name and motto are considered "classy"
Which they are..

The band is owned by an xbox live enabled profile
Which it is..

And that any online-restricting game modifiers are disabled
And I dont have any..

Im confused why I can never connect... Its annoying, I want to try it out. Is it because Im only playing solo?

You can do the battle of the bands stuff solo. My best guess is that your band name wasn't "classy" by MS's standards and you may have just skipped through the warning message. Try changing your band name. "Yellow Snow" was mine and it got flagged as not "classy" for whatever reason so I had to spell it "Yelow Snow".

Mine is Shattered Glass. haha.. I guess I dont know how that could be considered not classy, but Ill try changing it.

Go back to the main menu and make sure you are connected to Rock Central. That fixed my problems like this.

Highlighted the two problem areas I see. I hate how touchy Live is. Another one was a guy naming himself something like Spicy Something and it wouldn't let him use it because you can't spell Spicy without spelling Spic.

Yep, I changed my name to Shattered Glazz and tada it let me on.. pretty lame, but whatever I guess. Thanks for the help!

How do you know if your band name is considered classy?

That is sooooo dumb... my band the "Screaming Monkeys" was not "Classy" possibly beacause of reaming??? but "Screming Monkeys" is fine! Stupid!

The "classiness" of band names is not determined by Harmonix.

That's up to Microsoft (or Sony, depending on what system you're on).

I have this problem, too. Is it possible that a band can go "not classy" after the fact? IE, name the band, have a few weeks of being able to play online with it, then suddenly this error? I was working fine, but now I get the error. Weird... I suppose I could try renaming the band, but if anyone knows what's up, please post.

The band is called "pork pork perestroika", btw. And I can only see that as being non-classy if you *really* try to read something into it.
