Another question...

Unless I am missing something very basic, I cannot find a menu that brings up the DLC blade (I have the 360 version). I would assume it would be under the Community menu, I wonder if there will be a Title Update on the 20th.

I mean, I can still get to the DLC blade for Rock Band from the Dash, but it would make sense to have it accessible in the game, wouldn't it? Thanks,

Ken

Hey. I was sent an extra one, so I have two wired Fender Statocasters. Have used both a lot, and no, no problems with the wammy bar or anything else I have read here. It takes some getting used to the strum bar, it is so different that any GH guitar, or third party guitar controller for that matter.

I can't wait to get the DLC.

I didn't see any way to get to DLC from in game either. I suppose that would have been a good thing to include, but they didn't have it that way in GH2. Perhaps they just wanted to keep marketplace things to the marketplace.

Good that neither of your guitars have issues. Shows that the flaws aren't in every box, should give hope to some of the panic proned out there.

You could buy DLC in GH2 in-game at the store. For the DLC tab, they put "REAL MONEY" on it, so folks didn't think they could use their career cash on it. ;-)

Is there not an option in the RB in-game store?

didn't see one. In fact, in this game, the store seems to be limited to character attributes and instruments.

that sucks. The shortcut is definitely needed.

Lame... I was hoping there would be an itunes style menu system for previewing songs before buying them. I don't know the names of all the songs I've ever heard and liked, so it's nice to get a 30 second preview so I can tell if it's good or not. Also, for new/unknown bands I'm not going to buy the song without a way to preview it first. Unless I'm missing something, you can't preview game content before buying it on the regular marketplace, there is just the text description.

It makes sense for Sony and Microsoft to not like players to have the ability to make microtransactions from inside the game. Making you go to XBL Market or PS Store gets you looking at more stuff and possibly buying more. That said, other games have had it and neither company complained (that I know of). Probably just an oversight or they thought the system would be clunky (or something).

I guess i'd just pop on the internet really quickly and listen to clips on amazon or artistdirect websites.

I imagine they will do the same thing that GH does for the DLC. They will release a video of the songs, even the idie tracks in GH have videos to download. That gives you at least 30 seconds.

For the person who asked how I got two: I am pretty lucky, I get to write game reviews for a cool site :D

I assume we will see a Title Update on the 20th and there will be a new listing in the Store, or under the Community menu. But that is just a guess.

Well I am pretty sure I did myself in. Now my one Strat is unusable unless I up-strum, which is quite difficult, but can be done.

When I down-strum it hits the note, but I cannot get a score multiplier going as after I hit the note it seems to strum again and then of course kill my chance of a multiplier. This even happens on notes that are close together, hammer on sections or not.

I was playing songs and then upped the difficulty and started playing again, and thats when I noticed it. I lowered the difficulty to see if it was me :p but it wasn't me, its the guitar :( I swapped out for my other Strat and was able to complete the song without a problem.

I am bummed.

This is starting to sound a lot like the GH3 problems. Not wishing to pre empt things but it is not looking good. Why oh why can't someone make a reliable guitar?

Probably because most people wouldn't pay for it. As it is, Harmonix is already straddling the quality vs cost tightrope pretty delicately as it is. If they decided to go all out and make a guitar that was going to be Nigh Impossible To Break, they'd lose a good chunk of the customer-base that would flip out at how much they'd have to pay for that kind of reliability.

True, but IF (and I know it is just speculation at the moment) there are a lot of problems with the guitars the returns will cost them quite a chunk of cash

BearShare FTW...but not the new one...that one blows. Get the old version and download to your hearts content, listen, then play.
