I was a HUGE fan of the original RockBand. Never had any problems with it, whatsoever. I was thrilled to purchase RockBand 2, and spent hours playing it yesterday. Turned on the game today, and my character is gone. My husband's character is still there, and our band shows that it has 2 members, but my character has completely disappeared. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. We played for many hours. I earned money for my character, purchased clothes, and made tattoos (which is extremely tedious). I just cannot believe that my character is gone. I've read some other posts about this, and I can't believe there is no response from the creators about this problem yet.
Is there no way the creators can fix this problem?? Is there no way of getting my character back? I'm really angry and do not want to play the game now.

Were you playing with the No Fail, Stage Mode, or the Unlock All Songs cheat enabled? If so, your character won't be saved, as it doesn't save with any of those cheats enabled.

Mojo, I had this problem as well. No cheats enabled. Seems to be happening to more than a few folks...

Make sure you wern't signed into another xbox profile or it won't show.

*sigh*
Tried every profile on my machine, but *MY* profile is the only one that's active on Live. Regardless, the character(s) are gone, as are the bands. In their place, duplicate links to characters from other profiles. (My wife's character the first time, a visiting friend the next time.)
This is not something that can be solved by the user. This is a serious bug. Not something that can be explained by user error. It was caused by signing two profiles out, and then signing in on different instruments during a local multiplayer session. In other words, my guest and I wanted to change instruments. BOOM. Character gone. :(
(Perhaps I should add that I'm a network admin, and trouble-shooting is my business.)
