Question about Band Leader in World Tour Mode

Whatever instrument the leader is first chosen on, that instrument always has to be selected, so if you choose drums as the leader you always need a drummer.
It sucks, but I own the game and cant find a way to change the band leader, or what instrument the leader is on.
So I always have to have a drummer now while playing band world tour mode, it sucks.

Can anyone confirm this statement? Does anyone know how to change the band leader to a different instrument?

As I understand it from previous Harmonix comments, you have to specify an instrument type when you create a character, and therefore that character can only play that instrument, which means the band leader character can't change instruments. It seems like the problem here is that the band is tied to the character that created it, whereas it would seem more logical to simply tie it to your general gamer tag and profile. It does strike me as a strange decision, because people will obviously want to switch instruments every now and then, and the only work-arounds appear to be to physically swap instruments with another person, which kind of defeats the point of using your own custom characters, or to start a seperate band for each instrument, which means your progress is separated across four different saves.

I've heard before that you can switch the leader, I'm not sure how exactly because I don't have the game yet, but I believe it is possible.

Well please find out. Because right now we have two different bands.
Me and my brother want to play Guitar, Drums, and sing.
So were debating on what instrument the leader should be on. Because if we choose the Mic then we can never have just a Drum-Guitar Combination. It has to be Mic-Drum , or Mic-Guitar. I honestly thinks this really annoying and something that could have easily been fixed and should have been noticeable, we wont always have 1 or 2 people with us.
