Hey guys, I'm looking a relatively cheap drum throne that doesn't suck and works. Same thing with a mic stand. Thanks

I just picked up the PDP DT800 throne from Guitar Center for 40 bucks. it's super solid and comfortable. As far as mic stand, I have a fairly basic straight stand with a clip style brace for the mic.

just look on guitarcenter.com... the stuff on there's even cheaper than it is in the store. just make sure you get a mic clip along with the stand; most stands dont come with one.

go to wal-mart and get a small, cheap, collapsable barstool. It's what I'm using for a computer chair, and it's what I'm gonna use to drum. Mic stands are fairly cheap and can be found at your local music store.

Anyone else finding it more than slightly humorous that someone with the name "little_drummer_boy22" doesn't know what a drum throne is?

I wouldn't go any chaper on a drum throne than that, course since you're not really playing the drums you can get away with an office chair like this...

this seems to be a pretty decent mic stand (http://www.guitarcenter.com/ProLine-Round-Base-Microphone-Stand-100082245-i1168479.gc) for 19.99
Don't know if the mic will fit though

I bought that one from Musicians Friend, I believe it was cheaper there (plus Guitar Center sucks, at least the one in my town). It's plenty sturdy, I got it the other day and put it together.
If you're worried about the mic fitting, buy a butterfly clip...it will hold anything.

Ditto all that.
If you don't have a GC/MF near you, Radioshack sells the butterfly-style mic clips (as well as standard clips). They also sell windscreens (muffs) for mics...
You should totally put a bright red one on your RB mic. :D

Ditto on this. I bought one at Wal-Mart for $12. A little taller than a drum throne, but since the drums have adjustable height it shouldn't be a prob.
I'd post a link, but the item's not on their website.

What?!? Am I the only one taking a page out of MacGuyver's book and assembling a mic stand out of a chip clip, broom stick, and old boot?
